I've been debating between two methods, exit bag and carbon monoxide in garage. Ideally I want it to look like an accident, hence the garage method. I have a keyless fob for my vehicle and could make it look like I just forgot to turn the car off. I've read mixed online about this, catalytic converters make it harder to generate the ppm levels necessary. With the other method, I'd go somewhere I couldn't be found, have the location selected.

What's keeping me up at night is the pain I'd cause my loved ones if I just "disappeared" and if/when I'm found they have to process the knowing that I chose this. An "accidental" death is far easier for me to think about.

Does anyone have thoughts on this? TIA.

If you decide to use the CO method you would have to seal the room perfectly. This would make it not look like an accident. I doubt that it would work with the car. I would use a BBQ.

With the exit bag or any other inert gas method, it wouldn't look like an accident either.

I know people have died using a BBQ inside accidently without sealing the room. But this is a 50/50 chance. If you fail, you could end up with permanent brain damage.

This is for your information only. I do not encourage you to use these methods. You act on your own responsibility.

As you said, it would be difficult, if not impossible, for you to CTB by using the exhaust from your car. I wouldn't try that method if I were you. A bag over your head certainly doesn't convey "accidental". If you're a swimmer, perhaps you could accidentally drown somewhere.

It's extremely hard to make it look like an accident. Drowning or getting lost in the woods in freezing weather are really the only two options and it's extremely hard to ignore survival instinct in those situations

I wanted to save my family from the same pain when I was younger and tried very painful methods such as hypothermia.

Today I'm convinced the best way to go about it is to get lost in the woods with the right meds/drugs and cbt as far away from them as you can. And by woods I mean a very large national park, otherwise you will be found.

this is a path I explored quite a bit. and to be blunt first, it is not possible, I had to change plans to just making it easier for the news to be swallowed by them when the time comes. every so often you find in news about accidental deaths and that does make me ponder again, but planning a reliable accidental exit it just...

between disappearing and finding you exited on your own, at least ctb provides closure. disappearing will prolong their suffering to an unneeded extent.

nitrogen and co have the potential to plan an accidental exit, but at the end it gets very complicated and basically not practical.

simpler methods that could be accidental, say accidentally falling off bike into traffic etc etc do not have the reliability. With that lower reliability, the chances of becoming a burden and making things worse for them makes me not want to take the chance with this approach.

so I am to contend with finding a reliable and easy clean up method while doing the best to provide closure.

Usually car exhausts don't produce the necessary CO levels to kill someone anymore due to too many accidents. Bag over head does not look accidental, as said before by others. So if you really want to stick with making it look accidental then both are bad ideas.
