Charcoal CO Method Questions—Would be cool to rip up to Whistler with someone this weekend and end it there.

I dunno I think I'm gonna buy 7.5kg of charcoal briquettes tomorrow, a flaming torch, and a metal container or 2.

Is this okay for the torch?

My main concern is how long you heat the charcoal before transferring. You have to transfer it right? You can't just light it in the metal container and leave it there I assume because you want to get to the point that it produces carbon monoxide first? Then once you transfer it, how long before carbon monoxide is produced to a solid concentration (the time you can enter the garage or car)?

I don't currently have a place to do this at but might be able to figure something out soon. I don't want anyone to be at risk of harm other than me, so I'll take whatever time I need to find a safe place to do it in.

I'm pretty set on carbon monoxide, but I'm always open to hearing about other methods. I'm sure I've read about most of them by now.

Yeah it's a really nice place. I skied there many times as a kid. The village covered in snow always looked magical to me too, like straight out of a fairytale. Thank you.
