Since we all agree on the value of life on here, this post will be about the "how" of things, and not about the "why"...
After reviewing many methods for catching the proverbial bus, I've come to the conclusion that the most peaceful one is carbon monoxide, by far.
However, not having access to the stuff directly, I'll have to work around the limitations that are placed on me, by "producing" the CO myself. And so, if it's OK with you guys, I'd like to have your critical opinions about my plan, to help identify potential points of failure.
While I'm ready to CTB, I really don't want to end up being disabled or anything. So this is all in the spirit of harm reduction. For myself, and for potential first responders or even passers-by, that I have to take into account.
So my plan is basically this:
- Get sulfuric acid from an old car battery (and evaporate the 70% water in it), since it's not sold in stores where I live. Then mix it with formic acid in my car, after I find a semi-isolated area in my city.
In practical terms, I'll use a 1.8 liter glass container (from the coffee maker), pour 1 liter of formic acid in it. Then I hear that it's better to heat it up a bit, so I'll use a camping stove for that... And then finally, put the container inside the car, mix the sulfuric acid in (to top the 1.8 liter container), and wait for the carbon monxide and the intented effect. For other people's safety, I'll use a big sign with big fat lettering that says: "Caution - Carbon Monoxide" in a visible place in the car.
So yeah... Do you guys see any potential failures in this plan? I'm not good at chemistry... Are the ratios OK for instance?
