Yes, I'm sure it can. If the right method is used and executed properly, there should be no pain, and many methods take only several minutes or seconds to complete.
Gunshot to the head will be quick and painless but really there is some luck involved here, because certain brain areas need to be hit and destroyed to guarantee this.
Opiate overdose may not be so quick but should be painless. Certain other drugs, namely pentobarbital, are apparently painless. Inert gas asphyxiation is relatively quick and is reported to be painless and even potentially euphoric.

I mean definitely yes, if you want to go cartoon tier methods then big time yes ie straping a bomb to yourself mixed with pills etc is gonna be a quick exit

I don't want to give advice on any methods that aren't my own. I am using drop hanging which has the potential to be pretty much painless if done right.

IMO in addition to physical pain, psychological pain should be considered as well, so I don't consider methods that are potentally frightening and violent such as firearms, jumping from height, vehicle and train accidents, and drop hanging to be "painless", and definitely not peaceful. The inert gas exit bag is the only method that I've found that's accessible to me, painless, peaceful, quick, not a danger to anyone else, and reliable. I read that Nembutal is the "gold standard" of peaceful, painless, quick and reliable, but it is illegal and too difficult to obtain for me to consider. I'm not convinced SN is painless, and without a recommended antiemetic, I fear I wouldn't be able to keep enough of it down and drink additional doses if neccessary.
The PPeH has good information on why this method works, required flow rate, and how to make a bag hood, but much of the information on where to get the gas and a flowmeter regulator is IMO outdated and now incorrect. I have posted on my experiences obtaining these items in the USA. I see you live in NY. Providing specific advice on a method to another member here is against the rules, so it is up to you to read what I and others have posted, and if you like communicate via PM.

Five Final Acts has a comprehensive description of the method. If you google it you can find a site that lets you read the book online for free.
I'm not finding the free online version, but it looks like it's probably worth buying anyway. Thanks!

Two days ago I made a suicide escort that is legally legal in my country.
With nitrogen and a mask. To make sure that everything works as expected, I tried it out 3 times myself. Without tightening the mask, of course, just pressed against my face.
It took a little longer than I thought, around 20 seconds, before I passed out. But I didn't notice any transition in any of the attempts. I was gone suddenly and instantly.
I would call that 101% painless

No, it was a purchased, unmodified full-face diving mask with an integrated regulator. This allows you to breathe normally without a mouthpiece

Yes, it can, especially in a controlled environment and with a peaceful method, like ingesting N at an euthanasia clinic. However, since most peaceful means are hard to access and euthanasia is mostly forbidden in most countries around the world (and restricted even in those that are legal), so there are people who resort to more violent methods. Some of these methods include: Jumping, hanging, firearms, heavy impact, and/or other ways that leave a mess for the responders to clean up.
