Because in the measuring cup, you'll still be judging the mass/weight visually, as opposed to using a scale that actually measures weight.

Probably not. You should be able to get it close enough. Give it a little extra to be sure.

A scale is more reliable, not all elements have the same density, a handful of talcum powder weighs less than a handful of sand. The scales are cheap, mine measures only 500g (I used it to weigh microdoses of mushrooms) you can put the glass in, press a button to remove the weight from the glass, and start adding the SN, it will tell you exactly.

I'm not much of a baker but I can say that every cake I've baked using a jug for weight instead of scales has been a horrible disaster. SN isn't my method but suicide is one of the few things I'd rank as more important than cake.
