I was just wondering where I could properly source bitter almonds. Real ones. Overall this seems like the most accessible method to me.

Uh... just buy regular almonds and toast/marinate/dip them in your favourite bitter sauce ? You should be able to just find it at a grocery store.

No and no, lol. They are like ultra toxic, your best bet is to find a tree and nurture it or buy it from someone who already has a tree.

AND UNFORTUNATELY, they are known to be used as a suicide method so they are regulated and people will give you the bombastic side eye if you ask about them

Uh... could you technically kill a man by making them a nice almond based desert, because if yes, that's kinda badass

Somebody correct me but in the supermarkets its not easy as the percentage is close to 0%

You could maybe source from the producer a bag full of bitter almonds.

You need 50 to kill an adult but i would aim at least at 150 just to be sure.

Good luck eating that tho 😁

In central europe they're quite freely available in specialist baking shops, both online and in stores. But I would not recommend this as a method, as eating 50+ almonds (regardless of variety) is quite disgusting.

if cooked, they are no longer poisonous. Or at least not poisonous enough to kill. Though there have been cases of people getting sick from not cooking them for long enough when trying to make things like almond milk.

Oh I didn't know that! I always thought their chemistry doesn't really change, you must be talking about thorough cooking like boiling them first? or just cooking in general in high heat/burned?

I am not sure, I am not good at baking. Bitter almonds are an ingredient in Marzipan, for example.
