I am going to be using N and was originally planning on going out in my bed, as it's my favorite place. But then I realized the horror my family will face having to clean it up. Also that my partner (who lives with me) will not be able to stay at home for a very long time.

I was then thinking that it might be better to go out laying in the bathtub, so minimal cleaning is required. I can make it comfy with some blankets and a pillow. But it sounds like it'll be so drab and I want to go out in peace.

Has anyone else thought about this? How to go out comfortably, but with your decomposing causing minimal mess.

Wear a diaper if you are that concerned? Cover your bed with a tarp.

Alternatively, book a hotel and someone else will clean up the mess.

To be honest, I don't think there's much of a difference, they'll be traumatized one way or another. Even if there isn't much of a clean-up necessary (for which there are companies specializing in doing exactly that), your family/partner will likely still have a lot of trouble being in the room you died in. They might end up getting rid of the bed or bathtub. And really, you can't predict or control their reaction so I'd go with whatever feels the most comforting, after all, that's the least you can do for yourself in the end.

Otherwise, I'd make sure your family isn't the first ones on the scene. One option is to do it in a hotel room or, if you have a car, drive somewhere remote and do it there. Personally, I plan to send a delayed email or text message to the police/ambulance so they'll be first ones on the scene and will let my relatives know (I live alone).

How do you send a delayed message to police/ambulance?
