Are you alone at xmas?

Got inspired to do this quiz as I feel forgotten by my own family myself. I'm curious about how many feel forgotten or unwanted this xmas. After all, ppl tend to get so caught up with everyday stuff that they forget what's around them.

I have no living family and only two friends who are local to me. I'm always alone on holidays but honestly it doesn't bother me. Socializing wears me out so much.

I go to my favorite Chinese buffet for Christmas dinner and it's nice. They do turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, some things like that in addition to the usual Chinese staples. And they add some fancier Chinese dishes, a lot more seafood. I enjoy it.

I've been invited by my family but I don't feel comfortable with family reunions because I compare myself to them and I feel more miserable after that because they have a life and I don't. And they cannot understand me. I'm always the black sheep.

I got no one except for myself at the moment, the little family I had left died recently.

Yeah, alone. Family hasn't invited me for Christmas, well, ever. When I lived with family, they traveled for other family and left me behind to take care of the family pets.
The only time I wasn't alone on Christmas was when I had roommates. I would cook us a nice meal, but they weren't really interested in hanging out with me. Sometimes someone will check in on me the day of and I lie and say I have friends over and we're celebrating. I don't have friends anymore.

I try not to get depressed during the holidays, but I am really sad about it.
I honestly hate it. I'm not even decorating this year.

Yeah, my mother's coming over this time . So it's going to be worse than being alone.


I'm kidding. I'm kidding. She's actually amazing. But I have spent the last four Christmases alone.

I had horrible experiences at Christmas with family members so maybe 25 or so years back, it became more accepted that I wouldn't be expected to see them. For me, it's a relief to be on my own. We usually do a mini celebration at some point with various family factions separated. I hate the Christmas season though.

I must have spent maybe 24 Christmases alone. One, I spent with a friend and their family. That was nice but, I'm fine alone. It would be just another day, if not for the reminders everywhere!

One year, I did my tax return either Christmas Day or Boxing Day- may as well make use of the time... And they numbered and shamed us on a radio station! Lol. I think I was one of 3 or 5 or something.

I hope you do get an invite though- if you want one. Maybe you need to drop a few hints.

I drive two hours to my brother's, spend about four hours there, and then drive two hours back home. I'm grateful that I have family, but I always kind of dread the trip.

I hope to be gone by then. Last year I did a friendsmas thing, but honestly I just don't want to do anything anymore. I have nothing to celebrate. Even if family members did invite me, I would probably decline. Only reason I would go is maybe to keep up appearances so no one expects anything. But that's just a drain on my energy.

I don't really know anyone in person and haven't been in contact with family for over a decade so it's another lonely xmas.
