people wouldn't shut up today about it toward me. i get it, i'm dead inside and have had an "uneventful" life. its been going on for years and it was definitely immature of me to once consider it praise instead of indirect/unintentional negative feedback. do people do this to you? what do you think of it? i also have people say i fit the "only child" archetype which is definitely an insult. like thanks, i get it, i'm not pleasant for people in my cohort, and pleasant in a way for authoritative status people to use and abuse. in reality i'm pretty reactive and immature. idk what to do to be "young" or what.

yes, ive also been called an "old soul"
its due to the fact that i wasnt loud or break rules and tended to avoid conflict and also had more mature interests, and also because i was also kind of a square (didn't do drugs, didnt party, etc)

if im correct in what you mean by "uneventful" i relate tbh i do believe i was called stuff like that because i was at the bottom tier of the adolescent social hierarchy and didnt have access to normal teen socialization so by default so i was considered more "mature" than my peers

It was pointed out I was so cynical for someone so young. Lol. I feel as if I simply realised the truth sooner.

It's a literal sign a child is being abused, and retraumatized by morons who think an extremely quiet kid is a good omen. Always check for adenoid faces and dark undereyes, that's another easy tell of a neglected kid at a very young age.

yeah i think people conflate anxiety and social inhibition/struggle with "being better" (easier) than the cohort. which leads to more alienation and jealously from peers for being treated more favourably or as a more ideal version of a child. it sounds like school if you went, was pretty unpleasant. and i think when you grown up too you feel behind as well, and you realise how much human stuff hinges on social status to boost your other stats.

the thing with drugs too is i ended up being an addict but it didn't really do much. i think with weed and vaping it gives some leeway for accquaintices who do the same and like the idea of just doing that activity not alone. i ended up getting addicted to dxm which is not well known to the wider public. and its one of those things where u just sit in a room alone and trip. once i ventured out alone at 18 to random clubs and the only people who wanted to hang with me were older people and they were reminiscing about doing xtc while raving and stuff and they liked being with other ppl doing the ssame thing and being happy. alot of people are genuinely shocked when they learn i even consume nicotine.

Yup, all the way from kindergarten age. I was quiet, didn't cause any trouble at school, didn't do the usual teen stuff like partying, smoking, drinking, drugs etc...

It might be mix of autism and past trauma, but I feel like plateaued somewhere between 16 to 19, never truly growing up from that.

Think I read from somewhere that it's common for these "mature for your age" people (especially children) to often feel like they got stuck at some specific age later on in their life and never growing up from that.

Meh it was never really a source of resentment in my experience. There wasn't much to resent besides teachers liking me more. In school I was pretty much either teased, rejected, or ignored. The teasing was pretty harmless tho like girls asking if they wanted me to see their boobs or guys calling me a geek or lame or something although sometimes I straight up got laughed at. There wasn't really any advantage my social awkwardness had to deserve jealousy.

a lot of people do drugs for that reason. Sometimes I wonder if I drank alcohol if people would like me more.
