Been here for a while and everyone here are good people, but I think I'm older than most here, I was wondering anyone over 40s out there and possibly could there be a separate Forum on here for the over Fortys?

I just joined this forum, and am also part of the over- 40 club (45 years). I attempted to do myself in at 22 (of which I'm thankful to have survived, as I realized afterward it was more an impulsive rather than a genuine decision), but nowadays I see more trouble in this world of which I no longer want to be a part of. I wouldn't call it despair, but more of an epiphany where I feel I'm on the outside looking in. I don't like what I see, and it appears that most people (the masses of sheep and the select few who control them) from my closer observations of their behavior, cannot see out (philosophy of futility, on their part?). When time seems to stand still, and I get this dreadful feeling I belong to some other place and time (Luddite, empath) it becomes harder and harder to accept how time rolls on for everyone else and a sense that their reality is purely physical and a bit absurd. Do I belong here? No. Profound disconnection is the gut feeling.

There are many of us 40's and over. Pain and sadness and depression don't discriminate. I am 46 and I often find that generally those of us in middle age are ignored the most in many ways.

45 here, first attempt was at 13 and it kills me (no pun intended) when I think of all the crap I wouldn't have had to go through over the past 30+ years if I had been successful.

47 here. Had a good life, I'm glad I didn't CTB sooner. I chose to stick around until my parents passed. I knew early I did not want to live past a certain point of chronic pain. Didn't have children and never married. I wanted my exit to be clean as could be. Now, I have chronic pain and have received news that it will only worsen and I cannot work a full-time shift so, my time has come. If there are any over 40s in a similar situation, I would welcome conversation

Some younger people stated that they like to interact with older folk and some felt it was ageist.
