Recently, lots of celebrities have been found hanging from doorknobs and other household fixtures. Some people speculate that they're murders disguised as suicides, given that some of the celebrities in question had ties to pedophilia rings and such. I like the idea of my suicide being framed as a murder because the people that still love me wouldn't blame themselves :)

Chris Cornell. I have always loved his music from all his bands. Just something about his voice, he was one of my favorites and I'll never forget that drive when I heard the first reports on the radio station I was listening too. Just sad he's gone.

I'm not normally largely impacted by celebrity suicides, although I cried over Robin Williams and Etika. I think I've been more impacted by a non-celebrity suicide that happened not that long ago. One of the engineers at work took his life over the winter holiday, and we were told about it in January. I wasn't exactly friends with the guy, but I know pretty much everyone here since my dad works for the same company.
I was already very suicidal, but it made me realize that this is how my life is probably going to end. When we were being told about his death, I decided that when I eventually ctb, I'm gonna quit and cut ties with all of my acquaintances. I don't want to be remembered, and I don't want a moment of silence for me. I just want my existence to be completely forgotten by everyone as soon as humanly possible.
I was already very suicidal, but it made me realize that this is how my life is probably going to end. Kenneth Williams. He died of an overdose of barbiturates. It may have been accidental but I think he was depressed and in pain. He wrote in his diary: 'I wonder if anyone will ever know the emptiness of my life' and one of his last entries: 'Oh whats the point?' Sad because even someone who can be widely 'loved' and who makes people laugh can feel so alone. Plus- it's so sad that gay people couldn't be themselves back then. Not that that was necessarily the motive but I think he struggled a lot.

sulli and jonghyun. bc they were both very great people and activists who didn't deserve that type of death. sulli's really bothers me more and i'm not sure why, i think of hers way too much :(

(1) Antinous. (It's likely that his death was suicide, though nobody knows for sure.) (2) Capt. Lawrence Oates. In both cases they sought death for themsleves, not bcause they really wanted to go, but to protect others.
Virginia Woolf. I've loved her work since I read Orlando as a teenager. She had been suicidal for a long time and ended up drowning herself in a river.

there's been a few suicides in the star trek universe. being a fan they caught my attention:
one of them was Worf's son, called Alexander (Jon Paul Steuer), he committed suicide using a gun

Kurt Cobain when i was 14 , it was a big thing obviously, and they say more people commited suicide after that , i didn't understood why back then but now i understand that people overcome their SI because of him , giving them courage to do it.
Recently, its chester bennington, after he ctb , we really understood all the pain and suffering in most of his song and like he said we are just one more light.

I've seen a Video of a girl and it was the first ever gore video to make me feel sick to my stomach. (I used to watch A lot of gore to cope with wanting to SH)

Lupe Velez. She was a huge name, made it from slient to talkies when no one thought her accent would fly, but it did and people loved her. Seems she had bpd, and during a major crash she ended it with a little party, burritos and barbs, and died on the shitter because burritos should never be a last meal when you're od'ing.
Marylin Monroe. So undermined, so used, so underestimated. I don't think a woman alive could look at her life and not recognize most of it.

The man that Kay Jameson Redfield wrote about in her book on suicide. He laid next to his sleeping wife, plugged in an electric turkey cutter and sliced his neck. Wife woke up to that in progress, which just sticks with me for being horrendous for all parties involved.
Katelyn Nicole Davis. She was a 12 year old girl who hung herself. I was around her age when it happened so it has really stuck with me since. especially since I was really suicidal then. I followed her story a lot. She had a terrible life, her mom wasn't there and if I remember correctly she had to help take care of her siblings. The house she was living in was awful, messy and some walls were like Broken through. Her story was just really awful, I wish she got better. It will forever stick with me.

On a celebrity level, David Berman, singer and songwriter of Silver Jews, and later, Purple Mountains. His last album, released under the Purple Mountains album, is widely considered to be the musical equivalent of a suicide note. It has some of the most upbeat and simple, catchy melodies combined with some incredibly depressing lyrics. He's one of my favorite songwriters of all time.
On a non-celebrity note, oddly enough, my best friend, who killed himself a little over two years ago, was a huge Berman fan. He jumped, unlike Berman, who had hung himself. My friend had written to me in his suicide note that as a kid, he had always wanted to fly, and that jumping would be his way of fulfilling that dream, even if only for a fleeting moment. Thinking about that still makes me cry.

There are a few that seemed surprising but they're human after all. Linkin Park singer was a bit of a surprise. Robin William's too. And in Britain the ex footballer and was Wales manager Gary Speed. That one probably shocked me the most
