On what aspects is the UK below average?
Pushing more and more people in to poverty, food poverty energy poverty. Keeping people down with low wages. Food banks being used by people who hold down full time employment, I've heard of nurses and emergency services people using food banks. The state of some rental housing full of mold and damp and if you complain they kick you out. Lack of affordable housing. Unrealistic house prices kept high because they won't ever build enough houses. High tax rates. I think 15 people per day ctb in the UK, probably more but they don't update the figures.

Yes, and partially, though in my country things were not as bad as in other places in the world or even in the region it's in, and I didn't personally have it as bad as I could have, there. Still, witnessing how bad it could get and living within the culture did negatively impact me to a certain degree. It made me feel more hopeless than desperate, if that makes sense. Like I wanted to get out more than I wanted to ctb. I was fortunate enough to move but the problems haven't stopped so I can't say it's my country that caused me to want to ctb, just added fuel to the fire.

This is an interesting question though. May I ask what aspects of your country are making you want to ctb?

In the Caribbean. Going back to school because it's so hard to get a good job. What's the point if I have to work 4x as hard to have a basic descent life. My parents are helpful but they are getting old. I can't do anything but I'm scared to leave my home country.

mold illness is no joke, I've known someone's daughter get chronic seizures as a direct result from being raised in such inhumane conditions.

I guess the Govt is too busy raping children & covering up after each others crimes than taking good care of anything.
In reality it's the same gang of Draco running this clown world from the shadows.
There's more power in remaining unseen, hence why they confuse their cattle with elaborate deceptions like pretending there's ever been more than one Government.
Political theater.

here
ive reached this point of life because instead of getting me help my folks are too busy convincing me that im this way because of literal demons/jinns possesion
had some religious shaman called to 'purify' me too
or busy telling me that im a cursed child before birth
or not religious enough
or too sensitive and weak
these were when i was a wee kid
a school bullied antisocial kid
then a few years gone by
years of my life wasted
finally a relative had the sense to take me to a psychiatrist
but this is a third world
and i live in the smallest city of said third world
the very end of destination if you take the train in this country and fell asleep
before i even began gaining up the courage to even speak a word to the psychiatrist
not understanding whats going on boom he called 5 college students with white coats to come in the room, to observe me
all with their little notes

yeah i basically gave up seeking any form of help after all of this
im sorry this turned into a personal ranting...

The US is actually a borderline 3rd world country if you would believe it. It doesn't have universal healthcare. It has the highest incarceration rate of any country which makes it literally worse than any third world countries in this regard. It has the highest infant mortality, lowest life expectancy, high crime rate and violence, and highest gun violence when compared to its first world peers.

Brazil. it's actually pretty funny to hear that some other countries in this thread consider themselves to be third world... you should stay a day in brazil with a slave job and a barely functioning house which holds 4+ people to see what 3rd world means

I considered going to Europe to get hypothermia but it's expensive.
I'm considering hypothermia as well, but, without a car, finding and getting to a secluded location is very difficult
If I choose location poorly I'm going to get found and survive. Lose limbs and get brain damage as a result
If I didn't have to hide from "saviours", this would be a truly great method

Here from the Philippines. I don't necessarily want to CTB because it's a 3rd world country, but instead because of my experiences throughout high school. Bullied and felt isolated because I spoke English more often and was ridiculed for it. Ever since, I started hating everyone around me and myself with only a few exceptions.

visiting is completely different from living... just like most third world countries there are parts meant for tourists to see and the parts we actually live in. its really kind of naive to say it isn't that bad when you've been here only as a tourist and i say this kindly (as in i'm not calling you naive specifically!! but brazilian tourism really makes people see things through rose colored lenses)

brazil invests a lot in tourism, but rio is also one of the most violent cities in the world for a reason. people have been here for the world cup and loved it. the city was completely transformed for tourists while the cup lasted. the place they were at was always safe and beautiful. it's simply all fake. when it was over, it was back to being hell.

most of us leave the house everyday deeply fearful thinking about how we could be coming back home later without our cellphones, our money and we all know someone who had a gun pointed at our heads at some point in their lives. and it's not just paranoia, sadly.

however i do agree that it's not as bad as the countries you mentioned specifically! it's still hell to live in though and it'd take much weight off my mental health if i could leave, but that's another issue: most of us can't and will never be able to afford that.

in summary, living in third world countries just adds up one more big thing to the list of reasons why someone would want to ctb.
I was living in Brazil for 2 years and I have been to many countries, I am not saying Brazil is the best because I know some parts of Brazil have bad living conditions but there are a lot of other countries which is so bad in terms living conditions, war, drought and political chaos compared to Brazil!
you're absolutely right about that. still it's hell to live in when you're part of these places with "bad living conditions". life here is really unfair

Brazil, but actually one of the better cities.
I live downtown so you get hobos and peddlers and sketchy commerce but also a lot of good infrastructure too.

I guess not.
