I am not sure there is an official "psychiatric dog" category. If you are not sure that you would like to have a dog, you can get one from a shelter and if it doesn't work out, you can bring him back.

I've looked into service dogs for diabetics in my own country, where it's a long and expensive training process for both the dog and the owner, to get one.
I expect whatever you have in mind would be similar.
Unless you really need a specially trained dog, a normal dog is more appropriate.
