Discussion Anyone else otherkin or feel they were meant to be another creature?

I'm still somewhat recovering/not, so my wishes may change, but I find I'm wishing I was an animal often, specifically a wolf, because of my desire to be free and I also think it would be cool to experience life running on all fours and howling n shit, not have to worry about money or anything.

In the past I've seen myself as more alien than human, and especially looking at artists like 'Jazmin Bean', it helps to know I'm not alone in my body image. If it helps anyone understand, I'm nonbinary and genderfluid, but I don't like any titles, any implication of 'boy' or 'girl', or pronouns, I just prefer my name and it makes me happy to only be preferred by my name, I want to actually change it but I don't know to what, I am thinking something to do with aliens or nature.

I do find myself coming back when I look at people because the fact we're able to be conscious and dress up in all sorts of styles and just do many things, obviously so many things we can do that animals can't. I don't know. I'm grateful I have hair though, it makes me somewhat feel that wild nature feeling, and wearing furry gear makes me happy.

I have called people humans yea, and gotten funny reactions loll 'are you an alien?' I say it when I admire something wholesome about our race like the fact we're very humorous.

I don't really feel like I'm another animal but I definitely envy them sometimes- the pampered ones anyway... Next door's cats are in my garden more than their own and I often feel pretty envious of them lounging about in the sun.

EXACTLYY. The ones with the good homes who chill and don't have to worry about nothing. In this case, I just feel this is more of a stress feeling from society and whatever factors brought us here.

Also that video LOL. They really don't. I always wonder what it's like to not have a concious and just exist, I think it's more of how you can picture images or when you move your hands, walk, without thinking. And since we're talking about pets, that factors out the survival. So curious

oh my god hi!!!! fictkin (although some people don't seem to think that falls under the otherkin umbrella) and trollkin here. i often feel like i'm missing a lot of weight on my head (because, dude, i'm supposed to have massive fuck you horns) and like i should be able to purr (trolls can purr, apparently. didn't know that until i realized i was fict/trollkin)

i think the purring thing is what fucks me up the most, honestly. how am i supposed to express comfort and joy?? }X(

i am also non-binary but not sure about being otherkin. i do like roleplaying as a cat sometimes, meow-ing and snuggling up to people. and sometimes i feel a bit like a pet, because i am unable to take care of myself. how did you find and accept the label otherkin for yourself?
