Venting anyone else fear not being awake for death?

i don't want to die in my sleep. for a while, i've been scared of it, and i dont really know why.

when i die, i want to know what it feels like. i want to be completely awake. i want to experience the wave of peace i hear people describe feeling after a near-death experience.

would hanging allow for that? if i ever do decide to ctb, that was the method i was planning on, but i'm starting to wonder if i would pass out before truly dying with that method...

if its a painless goodbye, i wouldnt mind being awake and slowly drifting away.

I feel similar to you. I want to have control over when I'll die so I can do everything I need to before my death

i agree to some degree, although i feel like it would be certainly peaceful to just not wake up one day
