I have a wealthy, tin-hat paranoid family member who I am sure will throw down as much money as needed to hack into my digital devices after I ctb.

Normally I'd just wipe everything; problem is I'm still semi-experimenting with partial and I don't want to fail again and have an unusable phone/laptop at work.

I'm assuming my laptop is safe as it has a strong password and the hard drive is encrypted, but there doesn't seem to be a way to encrypt my android phone (obviously it would be password-locked).

Ideas? Connecting google play store etc. to a dummy google account and using incognito browser to check my gmail would be annoying; would it even work?

I realize there may not be any true alternative to wiping everything, but hoping there might be other options.

there should be an option to encrypt your android in the security settings.

Hmmm that's what I thought too @Ldog9. I only have the option to encrypt the SD card. It might be encrypted by default though; I'll see if I can find a tutorial/explanation for my particular make/model.

Does anyone know if that will really keep things secure, assuming my password is? I'm trying to find out what tools a pricey forensic team would have access to, but everything is marketed as being able to unlock everything so it's hard to tell.

There are some good encryption based apps, but can I ask you why you care about that stuff after you ctb? It won't have any impact on you.

Well, just because I'm gone, doesn't mean the rest of the world is. I don't want family member to try to open investigations or try to start legal procedings/hire PIs against my school/workplaces/friends, which I know is what they will try to do based on any suggestion of conflict in an email (for example).
