Maybe a bit of an embarrassing topic to talk about, but I'm really curious!

Any other yumeshipper/selfshipper/people with crushes on fictional characters on here? If you're one, tell me about your f/o (= character you crush on).

To start it off: My f/o is...
1000212158
Wonder if anyone knows him.

Have always had a great fondness for "Elise McKenna" from the book and moving "Somewhere In Time". Jane Seymour played her in the movie, which didn't hurt I've been crazy about her for decades.

i used to have a waifu a couple years back. dont wanna say what character it was (not due to it being controversial, i was her canonical age at the time) but i had her fooooorrrrrr... about a year, id say. used to imagine her with me all the time, talked to her and would pretend to hold her when i went to sleep, spent most of my time consuming content relating to her and the piece of media she was from, etc.

ive sometimes played with the idea since, but havent been able to latch onto a fictional character as good as back then.

Oh, I've never even heard about that book before! Just googled a bit and Jane Seymour looks so beautiful in that role, though. Any particular reason you are fond of that character? :)

Ah, it's totally fine if you don't wanna share. I wouldn't judge though, I... don't care much about the whole age debate for fictional characters anyway.

But aah, that's sweet. I just love it when people get really into a character.

I read Richard Matheson's book long before I saw the movie. It is a very intense and immersive novel, to the point where one can almost imagine actually trying it (there is a "Somewhere In Time weekend" every year at the Grand Hotel). Elise McKenna was based on a real person, which intrigued me (Matheson wrote a lot of details into the book--they are not in the movie). The character seems to be just the right combination of mysterious and elegant. There is a historical figure I am quite fond of....I can imagine, were time travel possible, going back more than a century to meet her.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me that someone on here knows where he's from, lol. But yeah, I guess I just really like merchants with dragon carts.

I wish I had the cognitive function to read a book right now, I'd be very tempted to read it. :')

Have you seen the movie? It requires far less effort than the book. Mind, the book is not horribly long.
