Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I live in an area where it's below freezing for a good part of the year, frequently reaches subzero temp, gets fucking insane amounts of snow, and is largely made up of wilderness. I was wondering, based on these circumstances, how effective a death by exposure might be.

I could in theory just use firearms and be more likely to succeed, but I don't currently have access to any and acquiring some would raise a significant amount of suspicion. Especially because I live with a parent who knows I have suicidal ideation and a history of attempts. I also don't want to traumatize said parent by risking them finding my body sans cranium.

I know of ways to get opioids. I am aware that opioids by themselves have a very low success rate, hence the combination of exposure. Plan goes as follows:

  1. Acquire lethal amount of opioid (preferably heroin, but fentanyl will do the trick)
  2. Get some alcohol as well (I'm not >21, but it wouldn't be hard to grab a bottle)
  3. Wait for a day with subzero temp for a good 5-6hrs
  4. Write my note and leave it on my bed
  5. Leave the house w/ alcohol and narcotic in my bag wearing winter gear. This would not raise suspicion, as I frequently go for long walks regardless of weather.
  6. Walk deep into forest.
  7. Take off winter gear
  8. Chug alcohol
  9. Inject opioid
  10. Go to sleep
I also live near a lake with a temp that hovers just above freezing around this time. I could try swimming a bit first to speed things up, though this could be more painful than hypothermia via air and also risks drowning.

Any thoughts on this? Separately, OD and exposure aren't likely to kill, but I feel like when combined under these circumstances, I have a pretty good chance of going out painlessly without traumatizing anyone. My only worry is that it's fairly easy to back out of (assuming the injection doesn't immediately induce unconsciousness) but I'd likely suffer some kind of injury that I'd need treatment for, which would probably land me in the psych ward.
