Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Just for some context, I'm about to finish my undergraduate degree in psychology. Today, I had a meeting for one of my group assignments. We're basically working on a case study for a hypothetical client who is dealing with some things, and whose father died by suicide in the past. Anyway, one girl in my group used the term "committed suicide," which pissed me off. People have been trying to eradicate that term because it was previously used back when suicide was, rather stupidly, considered some sort of crime. It's been outlined in so many places that it's no longer the appropriate term to use, and there are much more respectful ways of saying it (i.e., "died by suicide"). Do things like this piss anyone else off? Or just people talking about mental health in disrespectful ways, even if it isn't intentional?

I understand the annoyance, but I do think it comes down to interpretation. People also commit to careers, relationships, hobbies, etc. I get that the word can insinuate some type of crime but it can also be viewed as the act of comitting to an action, which isn't inherently criminal.

Having said that; I would highly appreciate it if society was more okay with death in general, thus also including suicide.
