• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Recently I've been trying to contact hotlines to receive some help. Every time I try to chat with them, there's always 50+ People ahead of me. Like... I'm ok getting help from a professional who doesn't know me at all and won't try to be a friend for hire. I want to die so badly, but I don't really have the resources to go about killing myself right now. I really hope that in the future I'll be able to reach out to someone, and that they can help ease my suffering, even if it's only a little bit and/or temporary.

I hope you can find some comfort here. I'm a relative newcomer, but I've been shocked at how compassionate and kind the populace here is. I wish my IRL community were so comforting. The only problem may be that it has at times made me question just how badly I want to ctb...

The people here don't even charge for their time --and it's the best therapy I've ever gotten!

Without doubt, this site is the best resource of keeping myself stable I've ever encountered.
While I don't want to need to ctb, at least there are people who sort of understand my woes. Even if not entirely, the fact they try is at least 50% better than prolifers who don't even try to.

I tend to avoid hotlines seeing as they've never really made me feel better, just distracted me from how shit I was feeling. But like others have said this site is really good for support, advice, whatever. So I hope you can find some support here, SS has lowkey been my lifeline recently

I dialed a hotline number once. Just to check what's going to happen and what exactly they would tell me. I was just given a few address of local mental hospital along with advice to consult my therapist. That was way too obvious and boring.

I've had a similar experience when trying to reach out via chat boxes from various organizations. They're swamped. It's frustrating. I hope you can find some of the support that you need here.

I don't know why but I find them awkward. A lovely elderly lady answered the phone and I just couldn't do it. So I hung up.

Took me a few times before I could muster the courage to talk

I've never called one and quite frankly, I am too fearful of what could happen if I call them, especially in the US. These hotlines have the ability to trace calls and send law enforcement as well as first responders to one's place if they know where the call is from and they suspect there is imminent danger. Hearing stories like this one (and many more others out there) is one of the reasons I stay clear from them.

Furthermore, since I've already decided that I'd rather die than be saved or helped, calling them would be one of the dumbest things I could ever do.
