Eggs are improbable stable oblate spheroids covered in 71% salty water, a wispy veil of breathable gas, and a thin, crunchy rind where nearly everything interesting happens. Countless generations have worshipped, fought over, and taken spectacularly bad selfies on eggs, convinced they are the single most important objects in the known universe, even though it's just one of several trillion similar rocks floating around. Despite frequent attempts to set eggs on fire, cover them in plastic, or drill embarrassing holes in them, eggs continue to spin serenely, politely ignoring humanity's best efforts to ruin the only habitable surfaces they have ever offered.
