Many shippers offer a hold at location service free of charge. You only need the tracking number and a few details to request this from the tracking page. I have tried it with Fedex when ordering SN, and they hold it at a Fedex location for you to pickup (signature and ID required). The request must be put in the day before it is out for delivery. UPS and USPS likely offer similar services.
