lawyer killed herself after being arrested for drink-driving after downing two bottles of wine, an inquest heard.

Karanne Hollow, 32, was "embarrassed" after crashing her Mercedes into a hedge at 3am.

She was found hanged after repeatedly listening to a song that included the lyrics: "I don't want the world to see me, cause I don't think they would understand."

Anyone recognise the song ??

Alcohol is a depressant. Thats a shame. She was probably a damn good lawyer with such intense emotions. Working hard on a case is a labor of love, you need passion. And like crashing in a hedge is the worst she could have done. I dont like ctb when its done in haste under the influence. I really, really dont like it.

Embarrassed for being arrested, a reason to ctb? I think there were underlying reasons not disclosed. You're not going to ctb because of a song.

Maybe she worked in the da's office. Or her father chief of police. Im thinking it was definitely in fear of implications for her job and even license as an attorney. I heard a someone killed their mother, went to prison, got out and became an attorney. I wish this person hadnt done it because I dont think it was done clear headed at all.

Alcohol is a depressant.
physiological depressant, mood destabilizer

lots of attorneys with mental health and substance abuse issues

damned shame: the various state bars will look out for you but you have to give them a heads up that something is the matter. they're not out to get you with the character and fitness forms. they're trying to make the legal profession look good (cover their asses) and make sure you can be ethical

I picked up a DWI long, long ago. I fell asleep - didn't pass out - drunk. I woke up, figuring I'd slept it off, and was driving too fast like normal. Blue lights came on and the rest is history.

Yes, I agree it was probably related to her job as a lawyer. However, I think there is more to this than we know.

Btw, I hate lawyers. Greed greed greed money money money.

There would have been a special prosecutor and a change of venue, but no she would have walked away and into private practice. Either way this is the average prosecutor's career goal.
Or her father chief of police.
Fuck no.

At age 32, I doubt it. I'm leaning heavily on undiagnosed/ untreated mental illness, or maybe (maybe) this was the straw that broke the came;'s back.
I heard a someone killed their mother, went to prison, got out and became an attorney.
I personally know someone who got licensed with an involuntary manslaughter ... from a DWI. (no, not me: as I've stated elsewhere IANAL)
I wish this person hadnt done it because I dont think it was done clear headed at all.
Yeah, I'm an efilist but this was a person who wanted to live, didn't see a way out and needed to speak - if a prosecutor - with the local police counselor.

I was a .gov employee when I caught my case and freaked the fuck out. In the end, everything was fine but I absolutely lost my mind and almost cashed in my chips impulsively.
Btw, I hate lawyers. Greed greed greed money money money.
That's bullshit. The average government attorney does not make a pile of cash and works for your benefit.

In private practice, they get shit on hard corps by senior attorneys, and when you divide out the salary by the hours, aren't making great hourly income.

You're speaking like a person who either can't afford good counsel (no offense, I'm a disabled person on a fixed income) or someone who has never had their feet pulled out of the fire by good representation - which I have, more times than I care to admit.

It sure thing wasn't the song , sensational "journalism" .

Anyone working in legal capacity need special enhanced disclosure. Unlikely that a person with a criminal record would get a job, though it is possible, and many lawyers have . The offences are examined on a case by case basis.

Would you folks (I'm not addressing HadEnough:) hire a drank lawyer with conviction?

Article states the song name , @Avicii (OP) , guess you just pasted a sensational headline ..

As for other speculations , "the solicitor specialising in planning law" . Google is nice .

Idk. I wouldnt be here today if not for 2 lawyers in my life in the past.
Yup, I just ducked an indictment regarding a crime that didn't occur because (REDACTED) and because I signed a check to a defense attorney.

The accusation is getting dismissed and expunged because (REDACTED) and because I signed a check to a defense attorney.

All the attorneys involved, including the prosecutor and judge, knew the crime didn't occur. But der Prozess requires people who know each other, and what the hell is happening to the innocents caught in the net.

The State hires prosecutors and judges. The accused hires an advocate. Mine prevented my disenfranchisement.

Compassion has almost nothing to do with becoming a defense attorney. It is the path for former prosecutors, or politics.

Sincere question, what is that?

These 2 individuals changed the course of my life. Both times was due to police that lied. I have a huge fear of police. Only been in trouble 2x in my life, both times due to dishonesty on their parts. One of them did it again, but ended up getting caught and publicly embarrassed and costing the city over 80 grand lol. The other one has done similar many times, once they tried to reach me to testify on behalf of another one if his victims, but they couldn't reach me. Some of these police are sick, sick ppl.
Congratulations on never having made a mistake in your life.

Lol Im sure not saying that. Yikes

Idk, Ive met a couple that had compassion and were sickened ny alot of what they witnessed in the da's office

Both times was due to police that lied.
My current psychologist used to work for the (US) Federal Bureau of Prisons because he wanted to help underserved people. But that also technically made him law enforcement. I don't think he's a bastard, but the city where I live has a lot of bastard cops. They've been sued, successfully, a lot.
I have a huge fear of police.
Don't get me started. They've fucked with me and my family since I was a little boy.
Only been in trouble 2x in my life, both times due to dishonesty on their parts.
I've done shit to have it coming, but normally ~half the time the officers involved have said it's the system that's going to be dishonest to fuck me harder than needed. Thank God I'm a wealthy looking white guy. (I was actually poor as balls at all relevant times)
One of them did it again, but ended up getting caught and publicly embarrassed and costing the city over 80 grand lol.
That's lol as shit. I tried to become a corrections officer, because none of them give a shit and mostly hate "real" cops and the money/retirement is good.
The other one has done similar many times, once they tried to reach me to testify on behalf of another one if his victims, but they couldn't reach me.
Yeah I mean one of my recent cops, I think actually gave way too many shits about me and prob unwittingly did some super unconstitutional shit to try to check if I was OK (I wasn't and he made me worse) and another was like "I'm your brother in PTSD," but like - dog I've done some dirt and this time I'm white as snow, leave me fucking alone, right?
Some of these police are sick, sick ppl.
I've actually never dealt with filthy as fuck cops. I have encountered crazy as balls informants and all sorts of wannabe assholes, but, eh, I prob shouldn't have ranted in this post.

I think the best #fuckthepolice I ever heard was Lisa Simpson telling (Officer) Marge Simpson "aren't the police the protective force that maintains the status quo for the wealthy elite? Don't you think we ought to attack the roots of social problems instead of jamming people into overcrowded prisons?"

I love it when they get caught and fired and/or sued. Makes my day. :)
My old best friend and I used to eat dinner on graveyard with these 2 cops. Wayyyy before the first cop did what he did to me. We'd leave our job and meet them at the diner every fri n sat night and theyd give us rides home after work. Sometimes theyd get a call, and have to run lol. Years later I was victimized by that really sick cop. Years after that my old best friend was trying to track me down and she asked Tim, one our buddies we used to eat with. He proceeded to tell her all the terrible stuff the really sick guy said in the report. When we finally talked and she told me, it was like being victimized AGAIN. Now 2 of my old friends thought I was this person this upstanding police officer documented in the report. I was so exhausted and still traumatized I never even told her what really happened. Terrible.
