Love is my final option

Hey,

Here's a few lyric videos that hit home right in my heart. I hope you all can relate to one or all of them. The music genres are all over the place, but I guess I just like music. I used to sing for a deathcore band, so it's obviously my favorite genre, but I still love all music. Hopefully you guys can relate.

This is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. I used to sing for a deathcore band so I relate to the music. The lyrics, "the human machine will finally cease to be" touch me deep in my heart. Hope you guys enjoy.

This is the second of my three favorite bands. Again it's deathcore, with a twist. This song really gets me going. When in feeling like I need to confront my demons I listen to these beautiful lyrics. "You wanna judge, but no one asked for opinions. I'm living life, you're existing." Hope y'all enjoy.

This is number three of my favorite bands. This one is psy-trance. It's a bit of a change from the deathcore, but before I ever got into metal I was a raver kid from the 90's. I'm a festival goer and a self described psychonaut. I love festivals like shambhala. It's a community of love that surrounds the edm community. "Before I change again. Remind me of the reason that I won't get insane." That kinda reflects how I feel about myself. I change my views so often that it makes me crazy. Hope you enjoy this one.

This is my favorite song. I really, really, really love everything about this song. I actually mention this song and band in my suicide note. "Be my friend. Hold me. Wrap need up. Unfold me. I am small. I'm needy. Warm me up. And breathe me." That's something I feel deep inside my heart. Please somebody, be my friend, hold me. That shows why I want a partner so bad. I just want somebody to hold me in the end. I truly hope you enjoy this one.

Of course this band and especially this song makes the list. It also holds a special place in me. The lyrics "I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real." And "the needle tears a hole, the old familiar sting." Those lyrics are right in my core. I used to be an iv drug user, and I'm a cutter. So you see the similarities. Hope you enjoy.

Ok, now were getting into sad songs about life and death. This particular song, though not about suicide, is one of the hardest hitting songs about death. The reference to mephastophilis, the character from the Faust legend that is a collector of damned souls for the devil, really sinks deep when singer Thom York says he's right below him, pulling him down. That hits like, hey I feel like that too. Listen and enjoy.

There's one line in this next song that really says how I feel about my family and friends. "Do I bore you with my problems? Is that why you turn away? Do you know how hard I've tried, to become what you want me to be." The song goes on to tell exactly how I feel about this community. Perfect love, eternal love. "I got flaws, I got faults. Keep searching for your perfect heart. It doesn't matter who you are. We all have our scars." Listen and enjoy.

I recently lost the love of my life. He died prematurely from a medication mix up. At least he went peacefully. We had a suicide pact, it was supposed to go down this month on the 9th, my 34th birthday. He was the love of my life. This song is about losing a loved one. Not to death, but to a mishap of fortune. I pretended I was happy when my guy died, cause I knew he struggled in life. Deep inside though I was dying. "I pretended I was glad you went away... I'm dying inside." "The pain is real, even if nobody knows. And I'm crying inside." Those words sit naked in my heart. Enjoy this song y'all.

This is another song about loss. It hits me cause it's exactly what I would say to my man if he can hear me somewhere on the other side. "And even though you're gone. You still mean the world to me." The words in this songs chorus comfort me. I sing along with this song when I feel I'm lost. "I sing tonight, cause it comforts me." Hope you enjoy.

*TRIGGER WARNING*
The following couple of songs are about suicide. Some people may be sensitive to the subject. So if you have trouble with the subject, please skip over the next 4 bands.

Now we get into the songs about suicide. I have to start off with the notorious kyle Spratt. This song is literally how most of us feel inside, and what we want to say too everyone around us who might have cared. "I don't wanna grow up. I hate change. And everything's just so rearranged." This song may offend you, or it might find a place in your heart. Take it in and enjoy.

Believe it or not, this is a Christian band. The singer, John Cooper, in my opinion is suicidal. He sings so often about depression and suicide that it makes you doubt he is a man of "god." In these couple of songs he sings about "ending it." The lyrics "if I wasn't here tomorrow, would anybody care" tells me he really isn't content with this life. I can relate, because I often wonder if I wasn't here in the morning, would anybody really care? Enjoy.

This band is one of the music big shots. I listened to these guys as a teenager, and I had a chance to meet Jonathan Davis, saying that, he is one of the kindest, meekest people I've ever met. This song leaves it's mark on me. The beginning is in traditional "hymn" style saying the following is why he killed himself. I had a father who sexually abused me, is the bane of my existence. The lyrics "I scream, no one hears me. It hurt, I'm not a liar" take a special place in my soul. Hope you enjoy.

This one is more along the lines of a suicidal song.

This next song is rap. I personally don't like rap, but I do like this song. The lyrics are something I'm sure all of us can relate to. "I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry father. Just forget about me." I wish I had a mother and father who cared about me. Enjoy.

These next songs aren't much happier. Although they don't talk about suicide. The do address the depressive mind. So be careful if you're succeptable to sad songs.

This song is another that hits home for me. Again it references cutting, "relief exists, I find it when I'm cut." It's a sad song, talking about severe depression. Please listen with care. Please enjoy.

This is one of the greatest rappers of our time. I especially like him because I relate to him. He's a drug addict, and makes it clear that it's the pain in his life that triggers him. I too am an addict, I too am triggered by pain. So I understand him. This particular song is about a relationship that causes great pain. in sure some of us can relate to that. Take it in and enjoy.

This next song isn't incredibly sad. I had to choose one song about depression that doesn't make me cry. There really isn't much meat on this song, but it repeats "all these scars" enough to make you think about the scars in your own life. My favorite lyric in the song, "I guess in born to lose" is something I'm sure many can relate to. Listen and enjoy.

Ok, here's a couple songs that truly give me hope. I hope they can do the same for you.

The first time I heard this song I was looking for a good song to play while I ctb. Instead I came across this and it honestly made me rethink ctb that night. Because of it I'm still here today. "This is with fighting for. You are with fighting for." Always remember that. Because it's true. Please enjoy this one.

One of my ex's made me listen to this song when I has a failed attempt once. When I got back to the Houser from the hospital he made me listen to this song. I still listen to it today every time I feel like giving up. It makes me think how bad I will damage my loved ones if I go by my own hand. That may not hold merit for some, but others will know where I'm coming from. "Hold on I still want you. Cone back I still need you." Hold on guys, enjoy.

This is another song I listen to in my darkest moments. It's not so uplifting, but the lyrics truly speak of something I want to feel, time and time again. "I can take the pain. Being it on. Let it rain. It's only gonna make me better in the end." Honestly enjoy this one.

Here's inner thing I want all of you to watch. It's not a song. It's a video that will really plant a seed in your heart. Please take a moment and stop to watch it.

Well I how you guys like some of those songs, groups and writing. All of those songs hold special places in my life. Maybe I've turned you on to something you've never heard before, or something you like. Music for me is like water to life. I couldn't live without it.

Love y'all,

I like this post. So I decided to resurrect it and add some songs I currently feel portray my thoughts as of late. Enjoy and please feel free to add your own as well.

The Smiths-Asleep

While I am not a fan of the band at all, this song speaks to me on a core level. The words and music are very simple and sparse, but powerful and will resonate deeply with anyone who is just tired of everything. Not just living.

My Dying Bride- Like A Perpetual Funeral

Ah, a long time favorite. Song describes a man dying and reflecting on his life at the end and realizing that he has been abandoned by the last of his friends. He also reflects on his many faults and missteps and comes to the realization that it was a life wasted and joy was never to be found. Not even at the very end.

The Eels- Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor

This song is haunting because the lyrics are so stark and real. That's because the lyrics were taken directly from the lead singers sister's diary. Yes, her name was Elizabeth and yes, she really did ctb. Haunting stuff. Especially the last lines.

Black Tape For A Blue Girl- With My Sorrows

A sad and haunting yet poetically beautiful song about a man seeking the literal woman in his dreams. The fishing metaphor is truly heartbreaking and the Latin parts are just a beautiful touch.

Bee Gees- How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?

Yeah, yeah, I know this might seem cliché to some of ya all, but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is one of the saddest songs ever recorded. Every word and every note just drips with sorrow, loss and a desperate sense of missing something important one cannot live without. Truly heart-rending.
