A few last minute questions:

: Prior to the water fast on the day, can I drink tea/coffee (with milk), carbonated water that day or can I only drink still plain water prior to the water fast on the day I attempt to drink SN?

: If attempting the SN method fails should I seek medical attention?

: Can I drink vodka mixed with lemonade the 2 days before I attempt to drink the SN? Tea and coffee with milk fine also on the 2 days before I attempt to drink the SN?

: What are the dangers of not using an antacid? I was thinking of going without since I have milk of magnesia which is a laxative and can cause stomach pain.

Also I am attempting on the 17th now...a day later...so I can get a few more things done and so I can have a takeaway on the Saturday.Ha. Just mentioning this if you see me online on the 17th. Don't want to receive 'did you not do it?' messages. If I don't do it I will let it be known on the forum anyway

Thanks

Milk of magnesia works as an antacid. It does however have a laxative effect and can cause stomach pain. I wouldn't know whether other antacids cause stomach pain. I read that antacids aren't necessary anymore anyway.

Carbonated water and weak tea ought to be fine. Strong tea or coffee is a no-go.

Vodka is not a good idea at all.

Antacids aren't actually recommended anymore at all.

Not even vodka the day or two before but not on the day?

Your wording on the questions make it a little confusing as to what you are asking exactly, so if I misinterpreted what you said, please do correct me.

A lot of your questions sound like you're asking what you can drink before fasting. It basically doesn't matter what you eat/drink leading up to the fast. Once you actually start fasting, you should pretty much only drink water if you need it. Alcohol is another type of poison, so your body probably won't like having that in it when you take SN, and lemonade probably has a good amount of Vitamin C, which can cancel the effectiveness of SN. So definitely don't drink lemonade on the day of taking SN.

Antacids are there to help reduce the amount of HCL in your stomach, which converts SN to regular salt. It doesn't particularly matter if you take them or not. Taking them generally just helps there be more SN for your body to absorb, but you're already taking a large enough dose that it will likely make no difference whether or not you take antacid.

Antacids aren't even recommended and don't even make that much of a difference even stand recommended that antacids aren't even that important in one of his threads. He mentioned what is the most important is the antiemetic.

Yes, but I am still tempted to use them- on the success stories thread a lot of people used milk of magnesia, but these were mianly from 2019. The latest version also sasys that propranolo is a luxury item, but many people doubt this- it does seem to help people tolerate the racing heart rate issue a lot better.

I googled milk of magnesia and stomach pain came up as a possible side effect. I really don't want more stomach pain which I may experience anyway during it. I am using propranalol. I was thinking of using milk of magnesia the day before attempting as a laxative to completely empty my system. Haven't heard anyone do that so unsure of it.

Sorry. I tidied up the original post to make it more clear. I don't think I am going to take the antacid.

Tagamet is used by some people as an antacid as poart of this protocol- it seems to be commonly used. Meto is a little but of a grey area- it helps a lot but in rare cases can cause terrible side effects, which isn't good if you survive this. I think I'll still use meto though.

I'm using meto. I trialled one and felt nicely sedated. Never taken the 3 though. I chose meto because I have cognitive difficulties and a method with meto was laid out in Stan's guide.

I couldn't help you too much on the matter. I have the impression that he says everything and its opposite: at the beginning the antacids were the most important thing with the antiemetics. A good number of threads said that it was absolutely necessary to take meto. And now we would no longer need it and the method would be almost inadvisable. I do not know what to think anymore. I had planned to take magnesium hydroxide as an antacid and follow Stan's guide.

To answer the question, no... other antacids generally don't. I think the potential for pain after taking MoM is related to the laxative effects, not the antacid effects.

Thanks for the response. In fact thanks so much for everyone's responses! I was not expecting this many responses and certainly not so quick! Really appreciate it.

As for milk of magnesia I may lose bowel control anyway but I don't need even more of that and the extra stomach pain that is an oft mentioned side effect? I don't think that sounds so good either. Like someone here said I would be drinking enough SN to not need to move more of it to the small intestine. Apparently antacids also make it longer until you reach unconsciousness so I'm starting to think they're not a good idea and as they're not recommended anymore I'll probably steer clear.

I don't really have the time or energy to find a new antacid anyway. Maybe I should try but I'm emotionally and physically tired.

As for the propranalol I'll still use it to deal with the heart rate.

The bad side effects happen in less than 1% of cases, so I'm going to take my chances with meto.

I hope that works- I just read a case where the bad reaction happened and with a person's second 10mg dose their pushed pushed out of their mouth and coudl be not retracted- they were in a hospital and intravenous drugs got rid of the reaction in 4 hours- it is so scary when this tardive dyskinesia reaction happens, I don't know it pills would help, in a hospital intravenous drugs are used.

I read 50grams Benedryl taken immediately remedys it. I'll have it to hand just in case it helps.

Also guys, forgot to mention, I have Nurofen as a painkiller. Now each tablet is 256mg. If I take the recommended in one dose dose that's 512mg of ibuprofen. Will that be enough? I keep reading that people are taking 600mg ibuprofen. Should I take 3 tablets of Nurofen instead of 2? Thanks.

I think I'll have it on hand, but if your tongue sticks out like this you may not be able to swallow. It's better to have it tahn not, but it may not work.

It's up to you, I don't think there is data bout this. In general I would just stick to the guide and not make big changes from it. For me coffee can be dehydrating so I wouldn't have too much just before the water fast. Excessive amounts of anything would worry me, but some could be ok.

Thanks so much for your help.

My only last question I have is whether I should take more than the recommended dose of Nurofen. x2 tablets = 512mg. Is that enough? I read that 600mg is the recommended dose of Ibuprofen. Should I take a third Nurofen?

I'm also staying away from Milk of Magnesia because of the laxative effects. Planning to use Tagamet.

Following the Q & A here - this is helpful.

Hope you're feeling calm about your plan. Are you worried about SI?

I am worried about SI. I'm worried about the physical pain.

Also I know I said the painkillers would be my last question but does anyone know how much Clonazepam someone with no tolerance can take in one dose? And if anyone knows about the painkillers that would be great.

Thanks lifeORdeath for sharing your experience.

I feel like as long as you do it outside of the 8hr fast you should be fine to enjoy your last cup of coffee? I can't see how it would really affect anything but that's just my opinion of course. Best of luck with everything; wishing you peace 💕
