Discussion 20000 members, how old are you?

I am so surprised at the lack of older members compared to younger ones. I am 70 and my age group feels the effects of aging very strongly. Would have thought more would like this site !!

50yrs old in 8-weeks! Yikes!!!

I see, after taking the poll, that I'm in the 1-2%. I'm 61. So many very young people. Damn, y'all should kick it a bit before ctb. Not that I ever did when I was young, even when I was non-suicidal.

How fast does time fly for you lot? Not near your age yet but somehow I am the age I am, already. Like I blinked once and now I'm here... before I know it I'll be up there as well.

My tendency towards suicide only grows as I get older. I don't want to "get old". I have no dreams, goals or aspirations. Without these, what's the point?

In 1900, worldwide life expectancy was 31 years. In that perspective, I feel like I've already lived a really good, long life (at 40.) And probably lived a longer, better, more privileged and fulfilling life than 95% of all homo-sapiens that ever lived. Although I would not want a slow or painful one, I do not fear 'death' (no belief in the afterlife). Ready to die!

You blink again and decades have passed by. All older people have confirmed this and some seem to here. Even younger ones like you can tell , a year will zip by, 2 , 5 years a blink.

To me this alone shows life consciousness , me etc is nothing. How can something have value if it passes so quickly?

26, going on 27 in the summer. Surprised I made it this far, to be honest. I have mixed feelings towards turning 30, though. Could I last another three years? A lot of people in my life make it seem like 30 was the lowest point in their lives, always groaning days before their three-decade birthday.

22 turning 23 (hopefully not tho). And I realise I've now been on here for 3 years. And nothings changed in that time except my certainty. Ideally I would have hoped even a small change for the better but it really does just keep getting worse. A firm believer that "it gets better" is bs now
