Yuck. There was this one package of pyeonyuk at a store a few years ago that I couldn't bare to look at. I have this weird thing with patterns and it was pressed so uniformly that it looked creepy. Taste is probably fine but I can't get past the visuals.

Yup. When you're butchering hogs, you cut up the lard into small cubes, and throw them into a cast iron cauldron with a fire built below it. Some of the lard will melt off, and some will get deep fried. Those pieces are cracklins.

God DAMN that sounds good. Honestly any kind of fatty pork substance is just top tier. there's a place near me that does a PHENOMENAL pork belly with crispy pork crackling skin. Definitely comfort food at its finest
