Another artist/ song I love, Is Elliott Smith's incredibly fragile, and beautiful song
" Between the Bars ".
It has always touched my heart and spoke personally to me.
~
Drink up baby, stay up all night
With the things you could do
You won't but you might
The potential you'll be that you'll never see
The promises you'll only make
Drink up with me now
And forget all about the pressure of days
Do what I say and I'll make you okay
And drive them away
The images stuck in your head
People you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
That push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still
Drink up baby, look at the stars
I'll kiss you again, between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there with your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught
Drink up one more time, and I'll make you mine
Keep you apart, deep in my heart
Separate from the rest, where I like you the best
And keep the things you forgot
People you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
That push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still

~ Elliott Smith, between the bars lyrics
It relates in so many aspects depending on your perspective while listening to it. Despite it pertaining to alcoholism, between the bars can be extrapolated in many different perspectives; suicide, depression, trauma, etc. and truly has been with me through many, restless, crying filled nights.

Morbid and sad fact: Elliott Smith himself passed away in 2003, the circumstances of his death are debated to either be a suicide, or caused by his girlfriend ( which she had denied ), the coroner listed the official cause of death as undetermined. His tragic death is still heavily debated, with fans and biographers divided between the theory of suicide and the possibility of homicide.
If he did himself CTB, I hope he found peace.
If it was the other situation, I hope the perpetrator gets " caught / revealed / confesses etc ), and faces legal consequences, and that Elliott is able to eventually get the justice he deserves ( if homicide was the cause ) even if it can only be given post-mortem
