Would love to read some ideas and some comments on what people think what happens after your demise. The last few days i thought about it a lot and i have to admit sometimes i am afraid and sometimes i feel almost encouraged to ctb. I came up with some theories what could happen after our death, but i would love to hear what other people think about death as well

1: My most unlikely theorie: we fade into nothingness. Personally i don't believe that if our life ends we just stop to exist, but it could be i guess?
2: Our consciousness will unbind itself from our dead bodies and will search for another host (Baby in womb; either right away or maybe it can even break time and go to different timezones like the past); or maybe it will even not bind itself to anyone anymore and instead we will just exist as a consciousness, a silent observer who can't be seen or touched by anyone

I believe that we won't just stop existing, because our consciousness is something extremly unique and only humans have it. I think our brains just act like docking stations for our consciousness to get a grasp of our body, we are nothing more but puppets and when we die our consciousness (our real existence) just searches for another host. I think death is like a reset, we will just lose all memories and we will start a new life as a new human somewhere else.

Tbh even though i know the real me won't die, i am afraid of losing those precious memories i made with this shell. I know i will just be born again somewhere else but knowing i won't remember my loving mother anymore just breaks my heart.

I have very similar beliefs/thoughts to you :) sometimes I am deeply sad about dying and leaving all these memories and this life but sometimes I am almost excited about it

Hopefully if I'm reincarnated I won't be such a mess. I don't care much for my memories since they're all tainted now, really.

I like to tell myself that when I ctb I'll go to heaven or some kind of a perfect place where everything will finally be good and I can be happy, and make others happy. But that's mostly me trying to comfort myself so I'm less scared to actually ctb, I don't have a clue what'll happen to me afterwards and honestly, thinking of the possibilities terrifies me.

i know that feel of horror. Death is something we can't get a grasp on that's why it terrifies us. We can't understand what happens afterwars. Maybe it is heaven and maybe we will just resurrect in another Body. Another theory of mine was, what if our consciousness just throws us back to an earlier part of our life. Like i can't remember when i was born or so, what if that is our starting point over and over till we had a satisfying life you know? If you die you will just be a kid again and you can make all those decisions again and try differents routes in life

Yeah, being able to restart from an earlier point in my life would be great, providing I could retain the memories/knowledge I have now so I didn't make the same mistakes again.

Nothingness. I don't want to have anything to do with this planet and being alive for the sake of it must be boring as hell. It's the obvious answer here.

That could be. You know maybe you have this feeling deep down, that this will be the wrong decision? What if this feeling comes from failed earlier attempts? What if our consciousness has the power to pretty much do everything? If we want another existence, it will give us a whole new being and if we want to restart from an earlier part in our life, it will just go back and even though it can't just take the memories with it (bc obviously the brain died in the last attempt) it will just let us know with this feeling deep down, that this will be the wrong decision. Like it will play with our instincts and we will say no to a path where we earlier said yes that led us to this horrible outcome. I wouldn't say it's impossible, since i believe that the consciousness of every individual is what makes the universe for this specific person (i know it sounds crazy, it's just my point of view though)

Nothingness, blackness, eternal sleep.

I think nde experiences are the result of a dying brain going into overdrive, but I wouldn't mind seeing the "light".

Thats the part thats keeping me from killing myself.

Those 60 seconds of brain overdrive before whatever happens after death happens.

Getting trapped into a nightmare that you can't wake up from, and realising what you did during it.

Then again, getting trapped in a dream forever might be ok, if its a good one.

A psychic I knew warned me not to try to join my daughter as it is extremely rare that she can help any soul there. She describes a place of sort of lost souls and cannot tell how long they remain there.
I do believe her based on some things she told me I didnt understand how any cold reader could have hit upon.
She said many souls that commit suicide are looking for a person or place to get to and she cannot help 99% of them.
I was low enough to not care and hope some spirits would be around to help get out of the lost place

I personally think our brains are our consciousness, and once our brains are shut off, it's eternal oblivion. There's a reason why we "experience" nothingness when we are unconscious. Have you ever been put under for a medical procedure? One second they're putting you under, and the next thing you know, it's over.

I also think NDEs aren't good evidence. The person isn't brain dead. Their brain may be going haywire due to the lack of oxygen. Some people have had NDEs when they weren't even close to death. Some people have had it stimulated in a lab. I also wonder if some of these people get told what happened by someone else, and then they start believing they experienced it. Finally, some people who were once clinically dead and brought back said it was nothingness.

However, I know that I could be wrong. But I'm hanging onto the eternal oblivion idea. The idea of an afterlife or reincarnation is... terrifying, to say the least.

One day we'll find out (or not, if it's eternal oblivion).

i hope and think it just ends. when you die theres nothing more after that. i wuold'nt even want to be reborn. this world is fucked up, only money is important and people are changing to the bad. this planet is doomed because of humanity and i just hope something is going to wipe out humanity. i really dont like our species how it is now. its crazy and fucked up. people literally would kill you for money, even for a few bucks.

Please don't let it be a giant slide straight into hell. I can see how reincarnation could be probable, but I hope that's not the case—unless maybe I end up on another planet where everyone is chill. Nothingness is fine. But I'm really hoping there's something on the other side so that I can see my friend again that passed away. I just want to hold her and swirl together into the stars.

Nothingness, for sure. Like someone said, it'll be like before we were born. Do we remember that? Nope. Although that'd be nice if we DID get reincarnated in someone elses body, but i highly highly doubt it.

Irreversible destruction and non-existence probably, at least I hope for it. I believe that we are our brains and bodies and nothing more to it, no soul, no essence, just a biological machine although very complicated with phenomena of consciousness.
The only thing we don't know what is going on in the dying brain, that's scary, but after all death is the most common thing and inevitable.
I don't think and act of suicide has anything to do with what happens after death, the concept of afterlife and punishment most likely derives from human psychology because it's our way to cope with realisation that we are mortal.

Forget 'Hell'. Just a church-created doctrine to cower the masses. The only Hell is the one we make or the one which circumstances bestow on us for whatever reasons (possibly/probably karmic). There is no permanent Hell and we all, always, have the chance to move forward.

I have two beliefs. One based on logic and one based on experience.

First belief is dark unconsciousness. You guys remember what it was like before you were born? Me neither. But I think that's what it's like.

Second belief is strange. I lived on a haunted farmhouse when I was a child and I saw a girl ghost floating up my stairs. I was only five years old and my hair still stands up on my neck if I think about it in the pitch dark. Haven't seen or experienced anything since, but I still know that they are there. So I believe that we could have energy that goes somewhere... Or doesn't.

Two very conflicting beliefs. I'm non religious.

I don't know but i REALLY wish i could find out right now. I just came back from the hospital and i've never felt worse. My mother (kinda the reason why i wanna die) keeps with this shit and we continue living this pathetic lifelstyle lying to everyone. According to her, if we're "light" then we'll become light Warriors who fight next to God; if we're dark then... Well, apparently you get everything but in this life but you're mean and shit, you are a demon. Do you get now why i wanna kill myself? This whole thing is just... Too fucked up.

It's not about finding THE answer or to say what's right or wrong, it's to find an answer that comforts you. An answer you can believe in so that death doesn't scare you anymore. When you are right before ctb and you are afraid of death, you just won't do it.

When I was younger, I used to believe in that there is likely another conscious realm. However, as I aged and grown older, I've more analytical and think more critically as well as logically. I don't see that there being a conscious after death. It would just be like the time before birth, nothingness and unconsciousness.

Consciousness is us knowing that we exist. We know about ourselves and that there is something special that makes us, us. If that makes sense to you. Animals don't have a consciousness because they can't ask themselves these questions like we do. They don't think about such stuff like we do. We think about a broader picture
