I am currently scheduled for a surgery in february to diagnose and remove endometriosis if I have it. When they went over what meds need to be stopped before surgery I couldn't help but think of how taking a lot of aspirin or something before surgery could end in what might look like an accident to others. not sure if this method has been talked about already on another thread. i also don't know if it would really work or if they would probably be able to save me and just mess up the surgery.

It will just mess up the surgery and might cause permanent damage.

Maybe if you had a much stronger blood thinner, but just aspirin is more likely to just cause a mess.

I feel like either way, they'd know something was wrong early enough to avoid much damage.

Edit: I might need to amend this. I was intrigued and did some digging. Aspirin might be a more powerful blood thinner than I realized. I found a guide that said to stop taking meds containing aspirin 14 days before surgery. In contrast, some of the prescription blood thinners only needed 5 days.

For awhile, I've had a fantasy about dying during surgery, under anesthesia. It's so peaceful going under...

Your surgery will be laparoscopically right?
So I don't think it will work. After one of three cuts they will notice that there is too much blood I guess.

i wont try it anyway cuz i want to see if surgery helps me feel vetter enough to not be suicidal. also if they find endometriosis then i may need more surgeries in the future so i can like do the wait and see aproach and see if surgery makes life livable. if i died in surgery maybe my kids would never know that i did it to myself. maybe my spouse would think it was from the surgery alone. i dunno.
it's weird i feel so weak and so much fatigue i feel like i am dying anyway but it is probably just anemia

Even if this method is successful, I don't think it wil be good for the doctors that do the surgery to live with the guilt of a person dying during their procedure.
I hope your surgery goes well and you feel better afterward :)

yeah I see your point. I think I may have this fantasy in part because of how objectifying the ultrasound the surgeon did during my consultation combined with how much trauma I have experienced with doctors in general. I'm not going to do it. the other appeal though is the daydream of my kids and spouse thinking it was an accident. I told my therapist the fantasy though so that alone will for sure make it so I don't do this. My real plan is wait and see if surgery makes me no longer suicidal anymore.
