  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

its important for me to explain the why of my decision, express gratitude for everything and to tell my family that its not their fault. really feels surreal writing these letters...

I am doing the same right now. It's so crazy. To be honest I have to stop from time to time because its too much for me.

I have written at least 30 times but descarded each of them because they were not "honest" enough. Its really hard to explain to your family that they did nothing wrong and still their kid commited suicide.

the problem is also how much to write? because no amount of text or explanation will really "justify" my exit in their eyes...

I'm going to write like over 9000 words and sent in a file. They have memories. They knew my struggle.

This is true nothing will justify it in their eyes. But still I want to try to explain myself. I have no goal of how much I write. For me it is important to adress three things.
1) reasons of my decision
2) Apologies for my decision
3) Mention good memories I had with them

I believe that it's a personal decision deciding how much to write in a goodbye letter, this depends on the individual and their situation. But of course there is the chance of other people not being able to understand our point of view no matter what is written as others cannot see life the same way that we do after all. I do agree that leaving behind letters is a good idea if someone has people that they are leaving behind. I think that some sort of explanation is better than leaving nothing. I wish you the best with what you are doing.
