There is no set criteria or rules as to what reasons qualify for suicide. Your struggles are valid, and nobody should be able to sway you one way or another. It's up to you. I wish you good luck, whatever you may choose.

I think one important point is that you should give it a good amount of time before deciding. Many times people end up regaining "happiness" after a trauma... other times not.
Yea I agree with this

Two points to consider. First, is the pain you are in permanent? Give it time, try therapy, try medication if you can, try everything you can to relieve the pain. Second, if it is permanent, are you suffering too much to live like this for the rest of your life? If you are in constant permanent pain, whether it is physical or emotional, that you cannot stand to live with, then I think death is a reasonable option.

I've got problems being able to form relationships. I have an insecure attachment style. I guess this is probably as serious as your issue but it's less immediately obvious to other people that I have this.

me too! I have major abandonment issues, let's date it'll be a trainwreck for the ages XD

I was very beautiful, then I got disfigured suddenly. I am crippled with severe anxiety and depression. I can't function, so my mom has to take care of me. There is no cure or remedies for the disfigurement and I can't take psych drugs because of my sensitivity to them. I've been to shrinks and they can't help

I was disfigured too in an accident. Please message me if you want to talk. I found ways to make myself feel better but I'm not going to lie it's a challenge. To be honest I think about suicide daily. I think what you have to do is find fulfillment somewhere other than your looks. Also plastic surgery is improving exponentially and it's very possible we will be able to 3d print skins and bones within 5-10 years. I also know a lot about plastic surgery now and if you want advice I can help you with that too. There isn't necessarily a cure but there are ways to make yourself look a lot better with the right doctor.

I am giving it time and lots of therapy, but trauma like this is far too horrid for me to ever feel the same again

This is very important. Suicide should never be an ad hoc, impulsive decision.

suffering is subjective man

there are people who are in the wheelchair and look like the elephant man yet enjoy life to the fullest

and there are celebreties, millionairs who kill themself

in the end its on you alone to decide
absolutely!!

I really can't give it much time because the anxiety is too intense. And I'm in therapy but it isn't working and I've tried several therapists and methods

I don't believe you. How old are you?

You should not judge me by age. I have few experiences in encounters, but that's what I'm saying: I could go on a date with a person like that, but continuing in relationships will depend on the affinity between personalities.

We live in a shallow society, women are viewed by men as sexual objects rated from 1 to 10, as they divorce from meaningless marriages and grow old the more difficulty they have finding a parter that still be attracted to them, this is the modern society in a nutshell, life is not easy for the average young beautiful women after a certain age.

would plastic surgery be useful in your case?
have you considered dating someone with a physical disability, such as someone blind , so that your looks wouldn't be a factor in finding someone to love you no matter what you look like?

the rest, going outside facing the stares of strangers is something only you can deal with it by being very, very, strong.

Plastic surgery won't wirk in my case, my actual eyeballs shrunk and there's no surgery for that. Even if I did consider a blind man, what can I do? Go to a blind clinic and pick one up? Everything is relative and relatively people are beautiful and normal looking and I'm not. I wish suicide weren't the only option, but what else am I supposed to do?

Do you enjoy other things in life? Far be it from me to judge, but relationships aren't everything. People in general suck...

you are right, complete eyeball transplant is still not possible with the current technology

i sense your deep desperation, you seem to be trapped, you truly want to live but not in your actual condition,i feel the same way, i would like to live for many years if my life turned out the other way, but the life i now have makes me very unhappy, ive done what i could to change it around but failed, its just to late for me now

all im offering is suggestions:
home school if you're young, because bullying is a problem
work from home if you can, because co-workers can be ass-holes
volunteer and help other people, perhaps youll will find someone in need that can look past you appearance and fall in love with you

The bottom line is i don't like to recommend suicide just because this is a pro suicide forum and just because people feel unhappy, i always advise try to find reasons that make you happy, because its all that matters in life, to be happy, if you try and still feel miserable then do what needs to be done to end the pain.

I'm in my 40s, I'm done with school and I can't work because I'm too traumatized by the way I look. I don't care how other people think I look, I can't stand it and that's what matters
I am trying therapy to see if it works, but so far it isn't and I can't go on like this much longer. And I already have OCD, so that combo makes life pure hell. I can barely shower with how traumatized I am about my looks

Its up to you to decide, simple. Would I kill myself if I were disfigured (to a certain degree)? No. But thats because Ive been through much worse. Asking people is pointless.

I know what you're suffering is fucking tough and only you can understand the despair you are feeling because I went through a similar body disfigurement. But the one thing I'm going to say is that as a man I honestly don't think a man would be turned off by small eyes even if they are very small. Having looked up images of shrunken and sunken eyes I honestly don't think that would stop me or another man from finding you attractive, especially if you say you were beautiful beforehand. But despite what I am saying I understand how it feels to have your world flipped upside down by a facial change that was so unexpected and that you're feeling is how anyone would feel in your situation cause I know I went through that exact feeling.

No, but that's temporary. Facial disfigurement is not

It puts things into perspective my friend. Also lol can calling it temporary. Imagine for months waking up to panic attacks.

Everyone has different reasons to ctb. People might view ur reason as shallow or not as severe as their issue but ur suffering is just that, It's YOURS! Until someone has been in your exact shoes they can't tell u ur reason is stupid. People don't realize how much their physical appearance can effect them.
I think there's a lot of things that contribute to wanting it to be over in a persistent way. Like the guy said above, it's subjective.

Someone can lose their entire family in a car crash and they would have more understanding if they took their own life (or carried on with life) than someone who suffered an objectively less critical event, such as the one you describe.

When people get diagnosed with terminal cancer they all react differently. One might lose the will to live and another will do all they can to get the most out of the rest of their lives.

I'm not underestimating this issue for you. I wish you well and wouldn't advise anyone to take their own life. How long ago did this happen to you? Someone asked above if you were depressed before this happened. If you felt that life was good or at least semi worthwhile before, there may be a way you can deal with this or at least think that it's a possibility over time.

I do wake up with panic attacks. I'm sorry you don't see my reason as justification for suicide, but I can't take the pain any longer and so far hanging is the least painful
