Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

How likely is it that I would die from jumping off of a 50 metre bridge into water? If so is it likely to be instant or would I suffer a lot? I'd like to use a kinder method but I think when I go it will be an impulsive decision on a bad day like today and this is what I'd try to do.

I also have the option of jumping off of a 43 metre bridge onto grass.

Chances of survival with jumping come down to "luck" circumstances, such as the trajectory and angle in which you fell, both of which can be impacted simply by the air resistance that day. Just to put it into perspective incase you aren't familiar with what I mean, there have been cases of people jumping from buildings no more than a few stories, and simply being that they landed the way that they did it was fatal on impact. It's impossible to say for sure… but I'd say that either option has a high chance of working as much as it has of leaving you permanently disabled.

With the water, there is the chance you do not die on impact, fall unconscious, and drown, which might sound peaceful but also keep in mind that you generally cannot predict the odds of this happening. I did look into some cases surrounding water jumping, and it seems survival from heights like these only came when landing into deep water, so take that information how you will.

With the grass option, it is undeniable that there is a higher likelihood for success. Grass is not the cushion that people sometimes think it is, and considering the height you planned jumping from, it would probably be comparable to hard concrete on impact. Even if you did survive the fall, your nervous system being overwhelmed combined with peaks in adrenaline may ease the pain for a few minutes, which may be a time frame for a backup plan if you for whatever reason decided on that. I am not encouraging this in the slightest, but it again is just something I read while doing light research on suicides done in this fashion.

Whatever you decide on, I wish you peace. I am sorry that the life you've led has brought you to this site.
