Hey, why not have parents who are both?
My own family was both tiger parents
and treated my feelings as "not real". In other words, they though my depression was just "whining" and my anxiety was just "cowardliness". At the same time, they expected me to show empathy
to them and be "their rock for them to lean on" in times of trouble.
I did try telling my therapist about all this, but she just laughed at me and mocked me. She was solidly on my parents' side, despite knowing the whole story, and had no intention of helping me. I turned to drinking alcohol and abusing cold medications instead.
