Help Wondering about guns in Australia

Hey guys, I was wondering if there are any ways to get firearms in aus? Such as a pistol or something, I debated joining the army or police force but my mental health is poor.

To make it clear really quick I'm not wanting to kill anyone but myself

I wonder about the logistics of possibly going to America and playing around at a firing range? I know my friend got to go there and shoot a gun so I was wondering if it'd be possible to quickly turn it on myself and shoot myself? Mouth or temple or something, anything instant haha.

Personally been very drawn to this method because of how instant it seems it can be
I don't care about people seeing the mess

You can get a gun licence, but it takes at least a year to get one, and you need a reason to own one. There are shooting ranges here.

Would you be able to have access to the gun outside of the range? Can you legally own stuff like pistols or does it have to be more like sports guns?

If you own the gun, yes. You can own rifles, shotguns, and pistols. A lot of this depends on what state you live in, so it might not be accurate.
