I saw an interview on Youtube that she's got a strong Beijing accent, noting her Chinese was extremely fluent, spoken as a major language at home, her mom's most likely from Beijing.

But damn, I too wish she'd have supported another democracy instead of competing and representing a tyrannical state.

I agree people should have a strong tie to their mother/fatherlands.
I don't believe in blindly follow a country but the fact that countries like China are run by a tyranny government makes it quite hard to digest.

I was born in China and despised the system immensely only because the true nature of authoritarian regimes is that they are against their very own people.
I only wish I had her upper-hand in such a situation concerning citizenship, I knew I would have been grateful and cherished democracy to its every drop.

Involuntarily living under tyranny rule is pure tears and internalised sorrow. I cannot begin to express how hurt I feel now that all the suppressed feelings begin to forcibly surface.
