I don't know. The numbers go up, it is far from over. We are likely to be quarantined again. But if we will, It may be worse than 9/11. Babies born in poverty due to inability to make abortion on lockdown, catastrophically sick nations because of inability to move as far as they want, homicide, domestic violence, millions of jobs lost, thousands of businesses bankrupted and that's just a part of an iceberg. Covid does not do that, we do...

Hell yeah it's going to be like post-9/11, only worse. That's my opinion. I'd already be gone if peaceful but unreliable methods hadn't failed, I don't want to participate in this bullshit, and I wont have the option not to. It's not just travel restrictions this time, now I can't even go to the grocery store without being forced to use their hand sanitizer, and who knows what's really in it, or without having my temperature checked, which is nobody's business. It's intrusive and controlling, and I think COVID is a manufactured crisis just as I think 9/11 was. All the things that @faust mentioned as well, it's all crisis, it's fucking with every aspect of everyone's private lives, and when at last they can emerge, they will have to consent to being controlled or not be able to participate in society or have basic resources to survive. I'm not a "conspiracy theorist," I'm a realist, and the reality is that there is enough evidence of progressive steps over decades to create a worldwide dystopia.

It's a good example of the cure being worse than the virus. They'll get it when the tax revenue falls because of people being out of work.

Tbh, I think it's going to be more like a post-WW kind of scenario. The crisis is still far from over, it's ongoing and doesn't show any signs of letting up. The economy is already worse than it's ever been since WW2 pretty much; I'm sure at this point everyone has had at least one person close to them lose their job, house, entire existence. This is bad on so many levels that I cannot even begin to fathom what the world will look like when this is 'over' - if it ever will be. They say the virus doesn't do well in warm temperatures, so as the Western world is experiencing summer, we may yet get some form of relative peace for the next couple of months. But when autumn hits and the temperatures go down, we're almost guaranteed to be hit by another wave of the virus which will continue all through winter and spring next year. I dread the future this will beget.

being a women, who's temp changes due to time of the month, would that be used against us,
not allowed on public transport without a mask, not allowed to remove said mask or eat and drink on train, so a 5 hour journey or more on a hot train?
Queuing to get into shops, what about when the bad weather hit's, Christmas shopping will no longer be fun and festive as it once was.
Communication through masks and plastic screens, losing some warmth in human contact as it goes all cold and sterile
the list is endless, I could rant all day,
all I can say is, its a world I don't want to be a part of

When will it be post-corona ? I keep hearing that there will be another wave in the fall that's even worse followed by another lockdown that may cause another 40 million people to lose their jobs.

I live in a tropical climate where it's hot along the year, too bad the virus is also rampant in my country. The pandemic is gotten worse due to government's incompetence.

I really have no hope for the future. Coronavirus was the last straw. Even if somehow the world recovers from this crisis, which is highly doubtful considering the mess it was in beforehand, there are far too many other threats at hand. From further pandemics and antibiotic resistant disease, to hunger and water crises, pollution, deforestation, overpopulation, weapons of mass destruction and irresponsible leaders, mass extinction and all the effects of accelerating climate change, not to mention the insidious corruption in society, lifestyle diseases and ever increasing inequality.

I think we're living in the end times, but every generation has its endless struggles, so perhaps it's always been like living in the end times. Humanity will survive, but I don't see quality of life improving for the vast majority of people in future. Quite the opposite. Just make a polite exit before things get unbearable.

The latest projections I've seen for Corona have said 18 more months. Many world leaders have said we're not going back to "normal." Instead they use terms like the "new normal." This was the same rhetoric used after 9/11.

They have a saying, "never let a crisis go to waste." Expect them to use this opportunity to put many draconian laws into effect.

We're going to see increased usage of biometrics and surveillance technology. Cashless economies, wuxi QR style traveling, forced vaccinations, and many more fun and interesting systems.

I don't think this thing is going away until they get their new world order out of chaos.

Well, we could have better let Corona go rampant, kill a good bunch of the world population, never have any problems with prevention which are worse than the virus itself, and have many problems solved that come with the overpopulation of our planet.

Or will that be the start of post-Trump ?
Biden gets elected and it goes away magically for a few months till everyone is happy again. Then a small resurgence here and there to keep everyone in place and under control.

Not sure if you're joking, but I'll bite anyway...

What do you do when people need to go to hospital? Turn then away? If we let the virus run rampant through the population then all of the hospitals would be full.

And do you really think that things would just go on as normal with all of these people dropping dead every day? Nobody would go to the theatre, or to the pub. And so they would all be going out of business anyway. The economy would have been utterly destroyed. The problems that come with prevention are absolutely not worse than the virus itself.

It's definitely going to be worse than post-9/11, the emergency powers that were never given up after 9/11 are sticking around in the same fashion as the ones from the corona epidemic. If you have an android phone, you can see this for yourself by going to settings and searching for "covid", you'll notice a tracking application that was installed behind the scenes without telling anyone. It's turned off by default, but we know it can be turned on at will since the police used it to track protesters some weeks back. And why else would they install and hide it so secretly?

It's going to get so much more dystopian, just kill me now.

This isn't true. Perhaps people wouldn't be so pessimistic about a post-covid future if the internet wasnt awash with conspiracy theories like this. See article below.

That's a remarkably self-contradictory article. "Bottom line, no one has installed anything, and no one is tracking you using this feature." is outright false when you can see for youself that things were installed without consent or notification. Also, there is evidence it was used against anti-lockdown protestors in Michigan. I scan my Android ports regularly and found sensors being scanned for weeks, regardless of the application of being turned on so. Traffic and ports being used by "Multimodel Sensor Data Platform" is not and never has been normal. Corporate narritives and authoritative sources will obviously claim the contrary when it's in their interests to do so. Even without a conspiratorial narrative, it's just creepy and a massive invasion of privacy that cements my point of how crazy post-corona is getting.

I am mind-blown by how ignorant and stupid some people are in this particular thread.

Christmas shopping? Checking temperatures? Wearing masks? That's your biggest problems?? Like what the fuck? Who cares about shopping or getting your temperature checked. You're obviously not a doctor. I am appalled by this behaviour.

And if "getting your temperature checked" and "using harmless hand sanitizer" is intrusive and controlling than what would you call an physically abusive boyfriend/girlfriend.

Yes, I am going to kill myself, but it doesn't mean I have to be so stupid and reckless to kill others with my ignorance. Just because "wearing mask is not comfortable to me".

I am also of the opinion that people are worrying over trivial things unnecessarily, but theres really no need to be offended or to take it personally.

Remember that we are talking about a post covid world. So people not wanting to use hand sanitizer in shops and wear masks has nothing to do with putting others at risk. We didnt do these things before covid - so why are people 'putting others at risk' by not wearing a mask when covid is over? People just have different priorities to you, I dont think anyone wants to put others at risk.

No. These specific people I quoted were referring to current times. It's all bullshit like that tracking application. I think that when people are scared and have nothing better to worry about, then they start making this conspiracy theories. I would make one up today, put an article on the internet, use painfully stupid phrases ("Scientist have said...", "Refugees are causing....") and even more stupid idea in it, and tomorrow everyone believes it.
