I (19m) am going to a very small school with only about 250 students. And if i ctb i would not want everyone in my school to be notified. I would be dead but still, i don't want everyone to be talking abt me at school afterwards and i don't think it would be good for my little sister if everyone was talking abt how i commit suicide and stuff. Has anyone here ever went to a school where a student ctb? If so what happened? And also if i attempt and fail will my school be notified abt that too?
Thank you for reading!

EDIT: forgot to mention that i am NOT planning on committing suicide IN school. Im probably going to hang myself in my room.

I guess it would depend on whether it ends up as public knowledge or not. If it does the school will probably want to provide psychological assistance to the other students of the same class/year.

If the cause remains unknown it will probably be up to your parents to decide on whether it become public knowledge or not. Considering you are still very young suicide will be suspected by most unless other reasons are obviously the cause.

Know that whatever your reasons for wanting to CTB are, you are still young enough to pursue alternative solutions than suicide.

Thx for the response. I know that im pretty young but life is exhausting and soon ill have to look for a job and stuff.

If i ctb idk how i would make it not end up as public knowledge.

the easiest way to go about it is to wait until you graduate. ctb is not urgent unless you are in severe pain

people will know and you will be on the news because of your age. people care less when old people ctb

Not probably, it will 100%. If your sister goes to the same school, her teachers will be informed. Other kids will start asking questions too. And stuff like this spreads like wildfire.

Yeah, in my school even if someone passed from an auto accident or over the summer in a boat accident we would hear about it even if we didn't know the person well.

Well, Fuck. Why does everyone have to hear abt it tho. Its none of their business.😭😭ofc it would be weird for classmates if i just dissappeard but still even on summer?!

She doesn't go to my school. But she goes to the school 50meters away from my school... and next year she might go to the same school as i am in right now. Her teachers would probably be informed. Welp seems like everybody is gonna know about it. Alteast i will be dead, If i succeed that is.

I'm not sure, my parents told me about it a few times when kids in school passed away in case I knew them I guess and I never really did besides classes I had with them, but because of your age it's hard to avoid that being heard about even outside of school. There were 2 LGBTQ kids from other schools that hung themselves and I heard about it without even going to their school when I was in middle school
How come other people knowing is a big deal for you?

Thats sad. And if people from other schools hear the news it will probably be alot since i go to school in the area's school centre with many schools and idk how many thousands of students go to school there but for my area atleast it is alot, since its not that dense populated. I would not like if every school got the news😐

I would not want people to know because im sure alot of people would make jokes about me and my suicide and say stuff like it is good that im gone. That would not be good for my sister or parents or rest of the family.

Are you sure you're over 18 and allowed to be here? I don't know of anyone graduating at 19. Or of high schools being 50 meters from universities.

I think it is somewhat cool to CTB or be mentally ill, better than being called a failure or some lazy piece of shit while living. but who cares what others say about you, you would be dead anyway, and "you" would be no longer you. just make sure your method works and enjoy death. this life is a big fat joke, this earth is just a dust particle in this infinitely vast universe, that is the beauty of life, "nothing matters".

Yeah I thought so too. But I am not familiar enough with the American school system in order to judge that. Moreover I am not sure whether OP is American at all...

I overread the part where he mentions the term meters. I still don't see it. I consider myself as not helpful in this case when I am not even dedicated enough to read the whole thread before I answer. However I just wanted to state "no minors allowed on this website". It is better for this website and for the minors.

Im 19 and in my country, Finland, there is no such thing as high school. I go to a so called gymnasium. I take my gymnasium in 4 years instead of 3 because i don't have the energy. And i also went to 8th grade 2 times since a was absent from too many classes. Normally you are 18 or 19 when you complete the gymnasium but im only on 2nd grade rn and i will complete all the classes when im 20 and will be 100% done with my exams when im 21 if i don't ctb. And also my gymnasium is in the so called 'school center' with many schools there and the school thats 50 meters from mine is a middle school(its not called middle school in my country but it is almost the same thing as a middle school in the us for example). School system is a bit different here. I am allowed to be here but i appreciate your concern about minors being on this site!

it is really complicated/difficult to make your death look like an accident. you're trying to fool a coroner and investigators and it's easy to leave a trail or make a mistake. I wish I knew how/was capable of making it look like an accident.

When I was in high school, a 16 year kid in my class hung himself and it was announced over the loudspeaker that this was an accidental hanging. The parents were insistent that it was an accident so everyone assumed it was autoerotic asphyxiation and mercilessly made fun of him for it in death. This was 30 years ago, back then suicide was considered more embarrassing than autoerotic asphyxiation, I don't know if things have changed. I have no idea why we were entitled to know his death details, he was made fun of a lot and I always thought it wasn't accidental.

That's sad ;-; why do people have to make fun of other peoples death and suicide? If i commit suicide im 100% sure many kids are going to crack jokes about it. And based on some research and what i have heard i don't think im going to be able to hide my ctb from my school, even if it was an accident it would be announced everywhere.

OF COURSE they will find out. How could that possibly be kept from your community? The fact that you have to ask that shows you're not thinking straight. At least wait until you've left school, got a job you don't mind, moved away from family, tried to find some meaning to your life independently. School and family can cloud your judgement badly. Get away from your previous existence, all the things that have given you your current perspective of life, and try to create a new life, a new perspective, and see how you feel about everything then. CTB whilst still essentially a child is way too premature. You haven't exhausted all possibilities yet.

I'm not anti-life, I'm anti-chronic pain taking away my ability to have a life; before this pain came along I loved life and was very ambitious, despite crippling social anxiety and an utter hatred of full-time conventional work, I found it mentally and physically exhausting, especially the social part, but I found a work-around that suited me - he said 'life is exhausting and soon ill have to look for a job and stuff' - these are problems that have potential solutions - at least try to solve them - at 19 you haven't tried shit

There are other factors too, not just the fact that i have to look for a job. For example i have permanent tourette syndrome that has been torturing me everyday of my life for the last 9 or 10 years. I think i would be better off dead and i have no interest to countinue living. I will only have to work Almost everyday For my life And i have almost no friends. I know that im young but i still wish i was dead. Would be better to be dead than countinuing boring ass life. Dying before it even started would be even better. Im just saying how i feel.
