I'm not overly informed on all of the details, but I heard that Canada is legalizing MAiD in 2023 (for both mental & physical illnesses). I was just wondering whether it would be similar to the Swiss model where they accept foreigners if they meet the right criteria. Will they be using Pentobarbital or another anesthetic agent to induce death?
Sites like this wouldn't have to exist if these were common practices. I don't get why society is so against giving people with no other options access to peaceful exits. I just want to leave silently. I don't want to burden anyone or have to resort to anything drastic (like jumping in front of a train and traumatizing uninvolved onlookers) in order to end my life.
I mean, I already jumped off of a building and now I'm infinitely worse off because of it. I unintentionally gave my mother PTSD when she woke up to see my crippled body on the ground. Her screams still haunt me.
I truly hate living in America. It's a curse. Politicians dictate my fate based on their own subjective morals (which 99% of the time involve a religion which I don't personally subscribe to). If you want to choose to believe in God, good for you. But is it too much to ask for you not to shove YOUR beliefs down MY throat? Many of the counselors at the psych wards I went to tried to convert me to Christianity as a treatment approach. I thought conversion therapy was banned in the vast majority of states (I guess that only counts if the circumstance is homosexuality? I'm really not sure, but it didn't sit right with me.)
