Sometimes when I tie a slipknot its strong AF and I feel like it might be able to support my weight but other times for some reason it seems to come lose for no reason. I almost want to tie a knot with the excess to the rest of the rope to secure it better bur in doing that, it would block the knot from self tightening.
Is there any advice on this issue? Any other knots that sre more secure?

You can try a hangman's knot. If you do a hangman's knot with just one coil, that's the same as the noose knot or slipknot. Try 2 coils, that should be more stable. The more coils you have, the more stable it is, but the worse it slides.
