Venting why

why do I have to keep living this life, suffering and giving it my all. just to die at the end? I'll work hard, earn money, go through stuff just to die at the end. what is the point? why? why do I have to? what will I earn from all of this? will I be happy in my afterlife? why?

I guess only you can answer that one. In general- why do people do it? Personal ambition- a need to fulfill their own potential type of feeling, or a feeling of responsibility or obligation to others? I think most people who are suicidal have lost the first one- or are starting to feel it's impossible and feel trapped here by the second one- in very general terms. Obviously, there's pain and suffering that push people even further towards CTB.

As for an afterlife- that's entirely down to belief. Could be true I guess or it could be something people made up to reassure themselves and frighten the 'sinners' that justice will be served in the end.
