It's almost treated worse than murder. You'll end up like a vegetable. You'll spend eternity in hell. You won't escape your pain but only make it worse. You'll transfer all your pain onto your loved ones. Permanent solution. Why is staying alive at all costs such a great thing especially when your life ducks as bad as mine and you are in unending physical and mental pain? I know religion and St Augustines ideas are a big factor but why do people freak out over suicide like nothing else? Do we belong to the government and they don't like their property being damaged? Maybe the church doesn't like it because dead people don't tithe. Critical thinking on the subject is pretty much non existent. Just the mere mention of it and people go nuts. It wasn't always this way. In antiquity I they approached it much more pragmatically. Finally, god help you if you fail and get caught. "Oh yeah? Trying to escape this prison early, eh? Will show you!" Medical arrest followed by drugging and sometimes even shackles. I wish we were more evolved and enlightened. Im ready to go but am really struggling with method and logistics. It shouldn't have to be this way. Fucking proliife assholes!

I know bro, I know. They just cannot fathom our pain and our daily hurting. Oh, but your life is a gift....say people who have wonderful lives of wealth and comfort. Humans, like all other animals, are programmed to avoid and fear anything that threatens their survival. With our advanced brains, we've come up with ways that institutionalise that fear, like religions that admonish people to follow their path, lest they be subjected to a miserable afterlife. Basically I think it comes down to- people (individuals and governments) simply don't want us to do it... Neither likely want to actually recognise the pain we are in.

For individuals- they have to deal with the grief and possibly guilt/ shame left behind. For goverments, they loose a tiny cogg in their machine and depending on the person's motives- the embarassment that their society isn't quite as peachy as they make it out to be.

So- they come up with everything they can in order to frighten people off.

I do believe that the way that suicide is treated is because many people are simply delusional towards the reality of this existence. To many people who are not suicidal themselves, suicide represents what they fear as it shatters their worldview, it scares them the thought of someone voluntarily choosing death over life as it emphasises the fact that life is not worth enduring for many people. This might be why they dismiss suicidal thoughts as always being irrational as they wish to justify their delusions towards life and it also comes from a lack of understanding as to how suicidal people experience life.

The views towards suicide could also likely be linked to the instinct to survive, many humans likely fear insignificance and losing everything through death which causes them to have delusions that life is valuable and should be prolonged as this existence is all that they know. There is also the selfishness aspect to it all, people wouldn't want to lose someone that they know to ctb so they dismiss it as being wrong for everyone. But seeing suicide as being worse than suffering really is insane and disturbing. The truth is that suicide shouldn't be so stigmatised and should be respected as a rational solution for people to free themselves from the burden that is existence. There is simply nothing wrong with suicide in any way and that's the reality, and nobody should be expected to endure a life that they never asked for if it's against their wishes. To try and force someone to stay here would be incredibly cruel.
