I've genuinely never understood this, for me life is constant suffering and I don't think it's much worse than most peoples' lives. For me just being idle is a continuous source of suffering since the feeling of one's body touching a surface is naturally painful. I always have a slight headache or body ache at least that comes from the burden of existing, and my body feels like a rickety structure creaking in the breeze. There is very little to look forward to in each month and everything that numbs the suffering, like eating, is very short lived and often its own source of suffering. The only time I'm ever not suffering is when I'm asleep or immersed in escapism, which doesn't last forever obviously and means nothing when it stops. It's not even a matter of bad events happening, that comes as well of course but just the natural state of being alive is hopeless and undesirable for me. I have asked this question to others before and the answer is always the same, they disagree and are content by default. So naturally, the only two conclusions are that I'm cursed or that others live in delusion, I think I can guess which is true. It's possible that other peoples' suffering has been transferred to me instead, I hope so otherwise this world is an abominable tragedy.

Not everyone can tell if they're suffering, its a hard thing to figure out, some people just don't realize how bad their situation is. I didn't realize how fucked up my life actually was until 2 years ago.
I do relate to what you said about even just being idle is a source of suffering, i constantly want to claw at my skin for just existing, and i wish i could disappear out of existence.

It's all a matter of perspective and how your brain is wired. I also think life is constant suffering with nothing particularly bad going on in my life right now. It's just how I feel in general. But most normal people think life is a gift, old age is a privilege, good outweighs the bad ect....a bunch of bs platitudes.
You are not cursed. It sounds like you suffer from depression like myself. I wish I could disappear from existence because I am too chicken to cbt right now.

I think life is difficult for a lot of people. I wonder if you are maybe more sensitive in some regards though. The description you mentioned of feeling pain being in contact with a surface sounds pretty severe. I get aches and pains certainly but, not constantly. Someone mentioned a condition the other day where people are especially sensitive to all kinds of sense stimuli. I wonder if it could be something like that.

I certainly think that we likely all have sensitivities that make us incredibly uncomfortable in certain circumstances. Whether it's physically- sensitivities to noise or temperature or, psychologically- social anxieties or other things that make life much more challenging. I guess not all people have these set backs or, multiple set backs they have to battle against as well as life's problems.

I can maybe understand people not claiming to suffer or that they suffer but, it's worth it. Why they think life itself is worth it overall though- that puzzles me.

I don't understand this either and it makes me feel very alienated.

I suspect a lot of people cope with drugs, alcohol and various other vices but even then thoughts of suicide should come to them semi-reguarly.

I think a lot of people are suffering they just have different wiring in their brain that tells them to keep going and it will get better. I dont have that mindset so I dont know

I think most people suffer from time to time but its not constant suffering. We can't always have what we want, we may feel depressed at times, we may get sick, we may loose loved ones etc. It's normal to experience these things in life, so why complain if it's what everyone goes through at times. Most people still manage to have things go there way a lot of the time and are able to enjoy lifes ups and appreciate the downs. It about harmony and balance. The good times help us through and make the bad times bearable so we can whether the storms. That is life.

It's when nothing or very little goes your way that the suffering is drawn out and becomes unbearable. Most people do not understand that this is possible, but some peoples lives like my own are just a series of misfortunate events, poor decisions and missed opportunities leaving one feeling oppressed, depressed and to blame... after all there needs to be someone to blame. To some extend I think we get use to a certain degree of suffering and may not even be aware of it after a while, thinking it is normal when infact it isnt. However I think it can get to a point where the suffering builds up,and if it is not balanced by good things, then it becomes unbearable and it may be time to consider checking out if there is no hope in sight for any change to help relieve the pain.

At least in my case. I disassociate and I can't cry anymore. It does not matter what I see, how much its sad. I can't cry anymore.
I feel numb in side. I had an awful experience of a dentist appointment. That made my teeth problem worse. I found the moment hilarious, where the dentist got angry at me for having gum bleed. Which thr dentist caused. I never get or got that in my life and I am sometimes harsh with teeth cleaning.

Most people don't live in constant suffering.
All people suffer somewhat, as in everyone struggles and feels sadness, doubt, fear, anxiety, etc.
But most people don't feel that way all the time, and most people can deal with their suffering
It's okay to not be able to do that, that's why all of us are here.

I'm not sure I agree with the first statement. But ig it depends on what you mean by a great life.
