Why does this seems like a good community?

This is just off topic, but there seems to be people on this forum who are truly contemplative and genuine despite it being a, you know, suicide forum. I've only been here for a few days and I'm quite surprised.

It's a place where you are able to share your most vulnerable thoughts with others and not feel judged/dismissed for it unlike what the majority of society does.

I think that just makes people much more inclined to feel connected with others on here even if it's not on a major level; and even when people don't exactly share the same experience they'll at least be able to understand the sentiments behind it as they are also in a similar position in mental state.

I was pleasantly surprised the same way, I only joined yesterday. I've hesitated to post more personal things, but getting more comfortable.

I think the fact that most of us understand, on some level, at least part of each other's pain, combined with the fact that we can speak freely here without hearing platitudes and censorship, as well as the base awareness that we want to give each other the kindness we don't typically have, makes this overall a warm and comforting community.
