  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Life is a cruel joke

We are living in a world of hypocrites, irrational and really selfish people who cannot accept the reality and truth themselves so they project it and then go into denial. They just expect us to suffer for decades even when we cannot while all the doors for help are closed by these very same people. Death is the greatest fear among humans. Cause no one truly knows or can comprehend what's on the other side. There is nothing that remains for the person that is gone. No body, consciousness, memories, senses and not even reality.
And yet we are considered selfish. People don't even have the faintast of the idea about what suicide and suicidal ideation are. Our bodies are made and programmed for survival. It even works when you are sleeping just to keep you alive. It has years of survival tactics locked inside the genes. Suicide means to go past all of that. A person has to reach a certain level of desperation and hopelessness to finally do it. Yes in a way I think suicidal people are in a state of weakeness whether physically, mentally or emotionally. Otherwise why would a person go for this option if he/she is fine and has no sufferings. But that weakness is not inherent rather brought upon by life, people and conditions.
The funny thing is that people can do everything for survival even if it means being hypocrites, liars and destroying other's life and yet these same idiots judge us all till the end.

I don't think its weak or narcissistic, but unless you have no friends or family alive, its hard not to say suicide is selfish. You are leaving behind a body. That effect ripples out, first onto the person/s who discover it, then cops / firemen / EMS who come, potentially on hospital employees if you survive, then onto your friends and family who now also have to take care of what you left behind.
What is wrong with being selfish? Every human being is self-interested to a greater or lesser extent. Certain individuals actually commit suicide because of the selfish behaviour of others around them; such is the case with those who have abusive and/or dysfunctional families. Just because an individual has so-called "loved ones"

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but are we not constantly told that relationships are a choice and not an obligation? This is why it is not considered "wrong" or selfish for a friend to cut you off, or a spouse to break up with you despite that fact that these can be very emotionally painful. So with this in mind, is it not then hypocritical to expect somebody who is suicidal to stay around for other people who have the choice and freedom to leave them at any minute? In fact this would mean that suicide is not selfish at all - in my opinion.

Yes, suicide means to go past of all that, but how does that mean you're weak? I don't get that at all.

How does going against your programming looked on as weak?

Can we just agree that weak is thrown around to scare people into not killing themselves rather, because we're a species that need the herd so we fall back to group-think because this is what soths our minds.

Every organism is selfish. Living things like to live.
