Why do some people get CTB so easily?

I hear people on TV or social media who get CTB... while I'm almost certain they've spent much less time than us studying methods, thinking... or even 10-12 year-old children who get CTB in their parents' home.

There's no logic to CTB. Some have serious mental health issues and have been obsessed with it for years, while others have never thought about it, aren't mentally ill, lead normal lives. Something bad happens to them, and then, in 3 months, CTB is over.

Survival instinct and a great desire to die

someone with a weaker SI can do much more methods that you don't even need to study for and with a very big desire to die its much easier to do the method itself or go through the pain.

there's also some ctb survivorship bias we see bc the news isn't going to report on "person who tried suicide is now left brain damaged"

I think that's the reason, someone used to dealing with emotional pain will not be blindsided by suicidal thoughts. A "normal" person has not spent years developing skills to deal with severe emotional pains. So in some sense, the mentally trouble people are more resistant in this way.

I assume because some people are very determined, and have the mindset that they are prepared to put up with some pain / discomfort.

Je suis nouvelle sur le forum, en noobie que je suis je ne sais pas trouver la fonctionalité pour envoyer un message privé. Voudrais-tu discuter?

I have thought of this too, and am always very curious as to the methods of some of these people. However as others have mentioned, we do not hear about the unsuccessful attempts. Likely most people survive with injuries. Those on the site are cautious because of what a failed attempt could mean.

This is my situation. I'm only here to kill the time until my circumstances are less restrictive and I can do it successfully the 4th time over.

This topic has mystified me my whole life, it's just another reason why I see this realm as not only a hellscape but one that profoundly makes no sense.

Some people are doers, not overthinkers. I'm guessing a lot of people on this site have anxiety disorders.

Not all people have the same level of SI.

Also, some do it at the heat of an acute crisis, when their negative emotions are so overwhelming.

Also, I like what the other member said, some just don't overthink it, they decide to CTB and they go and do it just like that.

We here tend to overthink, not necessarily bad imo, cus it helps in making sure that everything goes well.
