Discussion Why didn't your last relationship work?

I'm sure you've seen my issues spread across multiple threads and can put two and two together as to why I'm not doing so well relationship wise, but I'd like to stop thinking about my own problems for now. Feel free to vent and write anything you need here:)

Just had and still have a wild life didn't really have myself together still don't and I hadn't dated in awhile before I meant her . I didn't even wanna talk to anyone . We were just friends then shit just happened . She had herself together and was doing gd I kinda wish I just stopped at friends and she meant someone who didn't have a past and wasn't getting introuble at the time . Live and learn tho

I was too immature and fucked things up. I gave my best and was a good boyfriend most of the time. But some things never go away (specially if you, like me, manage to kill that sparkle she has for you).
Jealousy and drinking episodes (which are connected to my self hatred). Pretty much it. She also had her own set of personal stuff to work on.

One of the things another was one of my family members passed away and pretty much been introuble with the law since my teens also homeless rn so yea.hopefully shit gets better for me tho idk.

So she flipped it even though she couldn't be a priest anyway, since she was studying there (but not going to be a priest anyway) she shouldn't be living with a boyfriend. But alas after our breakup there was word she was too "touchy" with a student priest.

That's very odd indeed. I'm not going to lie, it sounds like you definitely dodged a bullet. If someone told me that as a breakup excuse I'd probably laugh from the absurdity.

It's long in the past and I'm not bitter with her, more mad at myself for walking into an obvious bad situation but doing it anyway. Now it's a "oh yeah you think that was a bad breakup . . . " story. A good interpretation of it was on "Kids in the Hall" skit where the psychiatrist is asking this guy why he stays in an obviously bad relationship, each story the patient tells gets worse. Pretty funny and I miss that show a lot.

I'm glad you were able to move on but yeah, it's always those "what if I never entertained this in the beginning" thoughts that get to me too. But that was something I never thought I'd here happen in real life, definitely belongs on a tv show forsure!

That sounds disgusting I'm sorry. It doesn't seem like being around her is any help, could you ghost her or pretend she doesn't exist? Or at the least, say "I don't really care about whoever you're seeing". It seems she's nothing but bad news.

I haven't told her, but internally I don't care anymore. It won't be long before she gets the message and leaves me be, hopefully. I'll find comfort in my misery. I'll find solace in isolation, heh. What else can be done? That's life.
