First of sorry for grammar and vocab, englisch is not my first or second laguage.
Basically, the title. Two days ago ive had a disscussion, with a fried of mine, who said that ctb was selfish towards famaly members, friend and so on, and that it was the "easy way ou" one who doesnt want to face his struggles chooses. Ofcourse i didnt agree with him, having a history of a few attempts myself and we had a rather long debate, in wich i said that ctb was "not an easy ways" and that his way of thinking was wrong and very respectless to alot of people. He just respondet everytime with "but think about their famalies, isnt it selfish to let them suffer?" to wich i said, yes but not really , after all one who ctb`s doesnt wisch for them to suffer, but he still decides to do it, because theyy just cand go on anymore. And from that point, we were pretty much just going in circles and i couldnt really find an argument to "beat him" in this discussion. Do you have any ideas what other points i could have made? (i have a lot of things in ,y head, but i cant rally put them into words uk?)

Once again, sorry if there are any grammar mistaces oder vocabulary mistakes or wierd phrasing.
Love yall <3

I do believe that CTB is selfish, so is almost every other action we take. However I don't believe that it inherently means that it's something bad.

this is emotional abuse and coercive control, emotional blackmail guilt trip to stop you from living your life how you would want to even if that means ending it, whats selfish is procreating in the first place and expecting someone to continue to live even when they are being mentally and physically tortured everyday of their lifetime.
your parents know the risks of bring someone alive here even tho they know that's there a 1 in 6 chance of someone getting a disability during their lifetime they still took the risk it says alot about the human race to be honest they just don't care for their children at all

the simple answer is that we didn't ask to be born, and there is nothing wrong with suicide and all that "selfishness". it's like we were robbed and now we demand to return what the thieves took from us. is it wrong? no, it can't be wrong. also there is nothing wrong with taking the easy way out. society constantly calls those who leave "selfish", but says nothing about parents and that the decision to have a child means to impose suffering and huge risks without consent, and it's all just so fkn disgusting & upside-down

i'd say, we are simply undoing the selfish act that others have done, no more

What is wrong with being selfish? Economics, evolution for example assume people to be selfish. Although probably everyone has the vanity to be altruistic, just like the peacock showing off its long beautiful tail, but not everyone can afford to be a nice person forever. Perhaps a faithful person would be more determined to fulfill all worldly duties before thinking about the final resort.

I believe that suicide is wrong, but not selfish because you have to be living in hell to actually kill yourself. People that kill themselves just can't stand the flames of life, and so they jump out of a window so to speak.

No matter what people say there could never be anything wrong with suicide. As humans we were forced into this world so unfairly so therefore we could never be obligated to continue existing. I view existence as being a punishment that we have to endure all because other people chose to selfishly procreate, and if people don't wish to deal with loss then they shouldn't bring life here in the first place.

Grief and loss are just an inevitable part of life, it's reality that someday we all have to die and lose everything so people should just accept that fact rather than guilt tripping suicidal people. Some people want to take control over when they die and prevent unnecessary suffering, to me this sounds like a perfectly logical thing to do.
