Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

i am asking this in a genuine way (but it may come off as rude because i have been told i can be blunt, sorry about that)

a lot of the questions on here seem to be people wondering if they can "adapt/alter" certain methods, but i am unsure of why you would want to do that? i understand questioning it, weve all had thoughts of "this part of a method doesnt sound like it would work for me, maybe i should consider changing it" but why would you want to replace an aspect of a method that almost seems essential to the protocol? it seems so risky, the pph is updated pretty regularly, and written by a former physician, i dont really understand the thought process behind trying to change certain parts of a method to make it "more comfortable" when the entire point of PNs work is to make death as peaceful as possible for those who choose a rational suicide

one example of this has to be the question of "do i really need to use an exit bag? can i not just do it in my car/a small room instead?" ive seen at least 20 different people ask this, and i get it, an oven bag over your head doesnt exactly sound appealing, but its there for a reason, the method is rated as highly peaceful for a reason, you wont suffocate , PN has observed people dying by an eb, and concluded it is peaceful, its scary, but so is dying in any way, we are wired to fear death, its considered an essential in the handbook for a good reason

same thing as adding more drugs to methods, it seems to complicate the process more, if they were genuinely helpful, they would be listed as useful at least once in the megathread devoted to the "way out" you are choosing

i am asking because to me this sounds kind of scary, i want to be sure my ctb will work, so i want to go by the book, i dont really want to experiment with different substances/protocols, and its fine if other people want to do that, its not my life, but i just dont understand why? why would you want to substitute something with years worth of research into it with something you have just thought of with no evidence to back it?

There are some very clever people who have passed through this site over the years. Some have figured things out, that even people like Nitschke didn't.

You are correct in a sense. Some people do try to skip aspects of a method/protocol - which can be very risky.

But also, some people are natural experimenters and like to tweak things to their own preferences. It's a personal thing I guess.
