  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I have got psychosis and twice and the first one when I was pretty young. Even during my psychosis people laughed at me and made jokes. It is important to state that I had paranoia about people would laugh at me. The feeling was way exaggerated but we need to differentiate. It was a delusion that the bullying was systematically. Though some people really made jokes about my manic state (I flirted a lot with women - later I felt extremely ashamed about it) . They were so cruel. Some people noticed that something was off but noone intervened. Even after my psychosis people made fun of me. Because it was "ridiculous" to get a psychosis in school. Many blamed me that this would have been kind of stupid from me. Noone knew about the child and teenager violent abuse which I had to endure. Of course I did not open up about it. Teachers also had the attitude that my behavior was irresponsible and dumb. Many left incomprehensible comments.
This really hurt because I am extremely worried what other people think about me. I have flashbacks of these embarassing moments lately.

Why are people so arrogant to judge without knowing anything about the background story? Maybe it is part of human nature to categorize people in order to deal with them better. In college many had the feeling I was insane. Women laughed about me because I flirted again. Many wanted to take advantage of me. Just to laugh about the insane weirdo. However some were genuinely concerned about me. But they were the minority. The professors pitied myself. But I think some had the feeling I was just nuts. I have the feeling noone differentiated that my behavior was caused by my manic state. People did not recognize that. This behavior led to my psychosis. They rather blamed it on my personality.

Something similar happens when people commit suicide. They say the reasons for commiting suicide would not have been good enough. Despite the fact they barely know anything. People don't acknowledge the pain an individual had to endure. They are pretentious to make a judgment about the pain of others.

This all hurt me a lot. It should not influence me that much. I am so dependent on the opinion of others. I try to think of them as scum when someone takes advantage of vulnerable people. But the world is full of them.

There is a lot of close mindedness and judgement towards mental health issues. People don't see it as a medical issue but instead as a personal choice to be dysfunctional. Mental health awareness has come a long way but for many people it only means awareness towards depression and anxiety. Psychosis and delusions are just something people don't want to understand and sympathize with. Hopefully someday there will be true complete mental health awareness.

I'm sorry you went through something like that. It wasn't your fault.

Many people can be cruel for no good reason. That is why I see it as better to stay away from others. Some people seem to just create more suffering. There is already enough pain being experienced in this world without people making things worse. I'm sorry you had to go through this. It is a terrible world we live in.

Same thing happens to me. People treat my symptoms as moral defects. I think people only understand what is different and don't understand the concept of morality.

most neurotypicals simply have no idea what it's like to not be like them, and they also have no interest in investing any time trying to understand non-neurotypical people. they simply have no reason to. it's much easier for them to classify people as less than them & laugh at them, it provides entertainment and makes them feel better about their average lives.

that being said, I still think it's unfair and nobody should be treated that way. I'm sorry for what you went through.

And it leaves the door wide open to the pain that people.deflect upon us. Judgement is the reflection of their pain, not yours. You have enough pain so their bullshit is just added to your pile of pain. I learnt to cut away the people who were toxic to me. It left just a few people but im a better man for it.

Errr, you completely missed the point there bud.

Humans are descended from apes. They share the same behavior.

We evolved.from cosmic dust and bacteria and pond life, and through the evolutionary scale, as you describe. We then became our current human form. I can't see how we can evolve further, if anything degenerating back to eventual pond life, then dust, back to the comic dust and soil.

Maybe you missed the fact that not a single great ape lives in the savanna, not to mention that current theories are not in line with your statement.

Great apes might not live there , but humans eventually did.

You can claim that "current theories are not in line with your statement" but you have to provide evidence to back it up. Humans are evolved from primates and take on many of their behaviors - fact. Hard for some religious to accept , but reality is not negotiable.

Eventually, certainly. Have we evolved on the African savanna that is another question, the point you had missed and started with some religious nonsense.
